Seven years in court, they found most things on invoice were billed out as more expensive equipment than what was actually used, judge mentioned contradictions in their story, basically caught being dishonest. Over billed me on a previous bill and promised to clear it up on the next invoice, they didn’t. I should have asked around because I hear that pretty much everyone is not satisfied that has used them, my parents used them around the same time and were not impressed. They caused damages to concrete counter tops on the property and also did not do the job as discussed… literally did what every they wanted and it looked horrible, out of level conduits, bent around the offset in the foundation. They buried the ground wire about 1” under the service of the ground and refused to dig it any deeper as the ground was too hard, I dug it out in front of them in about 15 minutes, they stood and watched me do it. Don’t take a chance with them, it’s not worth it. 0 star
response to comment: What wilf failed to mention is that they lost the first trial and that it took seven years because they failed to show up to court dates and prolonged the case. The court found about half a dozen charges on the invoice were wrong and billed extra by wilfs electric, totaling about $600 to $800 approximately. the lines were brought up exactly where they were suppose to, I own a construction company and the job was my personal property so I know 'where I want them to be'. they never dug anything at all, wilf never showed to site after the initial site visit and he never told his guys what was suppose to be done. They sat in their truck for 2 hours waiting for a part. maybe judge thought I didnt pay 'all' of my bill, when in fact I paid the majority, because I dug my own trenches wilfs lawyer made the claim that wilf was not responsible for the wire for that reason...
...doesnt change the fact that the wires could be read from one end to the other end of each wire... I was surprised to hear the judges ruling but after 7 years I cant really expect the judge to keep it all straight. the inspection never passed until years after when other electricians had done other work. I withheld about $1900 on about $4500 invoice, about the amount of wire I was over charged for(by the meter, no other electrician, of 2 that testified, knew what wilfs 'industry standard' marking meant nor could i find a material provider that understood)
I would have apealed but 7 years of court was enough... my lesson learned is this: instead of thinking the customer is always right as a base line for court, think that its better just to give the offender the money first and then take them to court.
I withheld about $1900 but that sure wasnt what I owed by the end of it, I was surprised the court didnt rule in my favor because wilf bill still had "many" (not 3 or 4 mistakes in his favor but more like double that on his invoice). I know I was over billed the amount of wire too, I had 2 electricians verify it and testify in court.
regardless of all the court, the work was horrible, wilf claims the ground was too frozen to work but I dug the ground wire in while his helpers watched and billed me for it, it was not frozen they were just un willing to work hard. everything they did was lazy and slow.
in the end what I owe wilf from what I withheld is nearly nothing compared to having to pay for his legal fees... let that sink in, instead of "ever" coming to my site once to read the cables with me to end a $1900 dispute wilf was more than happy to risk thousands of dollars and years in court
I cant believe wilf would have the nerve to respond and gloat, all of this was shown in court, there is an entire document of his failures and items billed for but not installed, where a lesser component was used. the judge ordered those amounts totaling nearly $1000 dollars be remove and I never even knew about them before court even started! this is what to expect when dealing with wilfs. i'll pay, the court ordered it, but we know you didnt earn it.
