I was following this truck, in Burnaby, when some poly sheets started flying out of it. They covered the car in front of me. They rest went under my car. Notice that there is no visible ID number or license plate. I called them to complain, but they didn't seem to care. I asked to hear back from management, but no reply yet.

This company is totally a scam. I barely leave any negative for any company but this company is the worst that happened in my life.

I am soooo happy that I finally finished the stupid contract even though I have no idea it is automatically renewing. When I was trying to cancel my service at the end, they were butter sugaring you to give you another deal, but it is a lie. They just want you to extend the contract but they will increase the fee after you sign the contract. The most unacceptable thing is that they increase the fee over 40% a year without any notice. When I checked with them, they only said the notice was sent out, but it is just a notice that saying that the rate will be increasing. There is no specific amount how much they will increase. The annoying part is that you have to accept the deal no matter how much they increase because the contract is not over yet. It is like a bloodsucker.

This company is definitely not worth surviving in the company. I am finally done with them. Anyone who wants to approach them please please please reconsider. It is a nightmare!!!

Edit/Update: I am even more angry now! Nobody at Waste Connections will give me any clarity on how they are determining the price increases. I have not once refused to pay for service but I have an open invoice dispute. Under their terms & conditions if you pay the invoice you are accepting the increase. They have now added late penalties and stopped servicing my location.
All I'm asking for is simple answers and now I'm being told to essentially "lawyer up"! This is blatant bullying and intimidation!

I am extremely frustrate!, DO NOT sign a contract with Waste Connections. I was with Revolution at first and really had no issues, then Waste Connection took over and I had zero choice because my contract was still active. 1st of all I was never told that I had to update my account with a credit card which was already on file and so my account went into arrears and penalized. You can’t even have a discussion or question stuff without rudeness and arguments. All of a sudden these surcharges were being added and fees were increasing on almost a monthly basis.even though they are making multi millions in profit every year, their excuse for the increases are that their costs for staff, disposal, etc are going up. On a monthly basis?!?!?!? I call bull!, then, in August 2022, I was approached by an account manager who promised to lower my rates if I renewed my contract early (to 2027), and it was a great price so I signed and she even sent me an email confirming the rates she would guarantee to me and lock in, ooooh was I naive! ONE month later, my rates started increasing. Damn, I would have completed my 1st contract this coming January. We are a struggling small business and they could care less because they have an iron clad contract! They can do whatever they want once you sign your life away to them!

Worst company to use for waste removal services. The sales representatives lie and say that its a one year term, but then they set up an auto-renewal without any notice and then charge you for an entire additional year if you try to cancel. On top of that, there's 0 communication. They haven't picked up my garbage for 6 months and are still charging me.

What type of business gives you a 30 day period to cancel in a 365 day calendar year. Ridiculous. The customer service is incredibly rude.

Frustrated with Waste Connections – Beware of Rate Increases and Poor Communication!

I’ve had a similar experience to many others with Waste Connections. A sales manager initially told me that the service charge would be locked for the duration of my agreement, but shortly after, my bill started increasing. When I reached out to the new manager(Jim TaO), he offered to deduct $20 CAD—but only if I agreed to sign for another 2 years. I couldn't believe that this is how they do business.

They claimed the price increases were due to government regulations, but as a customer, I never received any notice, letter, or even a calculation explaining how they came up with these new numbers. When I finally decided to cancel the service after my agreement, the manager (Jim Tao) told me I would have to find the contract myself. However, the agreement had been signed via email, and I was never given a copy. When I checked the link in the email, no contract was visible.

Calling the company was no help either, as they kept pushing me back to the manager, who they claimed was the only one with access to the contract. Whenever I called him, I was stuck in voicemail, and he refused to provide a copy of the agreement.

This lack of transparency and customer care is completely unacceptable. I advise anyone considering Waste Connections to think twice before signing any agreement with them.

She was not only able to resolve the issue promptly but also made the entire experience seamless. I’ve had the opportunity to speak with her on other occasions, and she consistently delivers excellent service. I appreciate her dedication and professionalism.

The shadiest business practice ever. They will buy out small companies and take over existing contracts only to abuse clauses (such as doubling rates). They will miss pick ups and refuse credits and demand payment for services not offered. Their rep Sarah is by far the worst person to deal with and they will bill for services not provided constantly.

Edit as of September 2024. My initial contract with revolution resource (the company that waste connections bought out) was $296 for weekly pick ups. Waste connections in the space of 3 years have quadrupled that price and now it is more expensive for a single monthly pick up than was was initially signed for. When asking to what the penalty would be to be released for the final 15 months, I was quoted with over $8000. (Over double the cost of what I would be paying monthly).

Every rep is as shady as the last. DO NOT SIGN WITH THEM. Also if signing with any other company ask for a clause to be released without penalty if they are purchased by waste connections.
