I had a 12.96 KW solar array installed by Viridian in October of 2023 and must say that the entire process, while complicated by the rules around taking advantage of government subsidies and loans, the actual installation was a breeze. I started by exploring various vendors online at the end of August and Viridian was responsive and provided a detailed quote by September 7. I settled on Viridian ultimately because of the service they provided and the nature of the company (an employee co-operative).

Viridian was a delight to work with and the rough quote (Sept 7) was exactly the final price at installation (Nov 15). Both the site visit prior to the installation and the installation were professional and on schedule. The crew was respectful and efficient, completing the installation in 24 hours. Follow up was excellent with staff checking to see whether I was satisfied and whether there were any issues. Viridian handled the BC Hydro interaction (net metering) and set up our online monitoring of the array output.

The government process was complicated by the need to have an energy audit despite no planning of any changes to the structure for energy conservation. Despite the time delays and complexity of the process we ultimately received both the maximum grant and a ten-year interest-free loan.

Given our experience I am pleased to recommend Viridian as I have already with several friends.

Viridian installed our solar system. They were great to deal with. Good communication throughout the process, competitive pricing, kept to their timeline and kept us informed. We were particularly impressed when they continued to install the system on our very steep roof when the temperatures dropped to-10C! There was a minor problem after completion and they were quick to resolve it. I fully recommend Viridian

I had a 12.4 kw/33 panel install on the roof of my house and Viridian was great through the whole process. Very informative in helping us to learn what it all entails and no pushy sales pitch – they gave the info and data and let that speak for itself. We were back and forth for several months, asking about roof mount, ground mount, and many other questions and they patiently answered every single one, and we never felt pressured the entire time. We finally decided to do it, and they were able to complete it all in one day. Their crew was friendly and respectful, keeping it clean and tidying up well afterwards.
I’ve had it for almost a few months now, and on a mostly Sunny mid-May day I’m producing 80 kw in a day – that’s enough to fully charge my electric car and completely power the house and still bank a good portion of that energy with BC Hydro to get back in the colder winter months.
I have not had my first hydro bill since the install yet, but I’m expecting it to be almost nothing. Looking at the cost to put this in and the amount of money I will save on electricity, it will work out to be comparable to about an 8-10% return on investment every single year – one of the best investments you can make.

Update after 1 year: we got over 14 MW of energy in the first year and our summer billing is only the BC Hydro service fee of about $13 every 2 months. So 2 of the 6 BC Hydro bills we get in a year are only $13 each and the other 4 are greatly reduced as we are using the energy we banked with them in the sunny season. If I wasn't charging my car we would have only the $13 service fee on every bill throughout the year.

From the start of the process to completion of the install of our solar panels, Veridian Energy Co-op kept us informed every step of the way. Everyone was super friendly and helpful from sales to install. The crew who installed our panels communicated to us the whole time and they walked us through the app once done so we could easily track our production daily. We have had our panels since last fall and the past couple of months have really shown us a great return! If you are considering solar for your home, I would highly recommend Veridian! Also, love that they are local and employee owned!

We were very pleased with the installation of solar panels on our roof by Viridian. The process was smooth from concept and planning through to installation of panels, electrical connections and arranging net metering with BC Hydro. We received exactly what was proposed with delivery by very capable, professional and pleasant Viridian staff. A very good experience from our perspective and we are pleased that we are now generating power from our very difficult roof (1911 house with gables) and sometimes sending power back to the grid and receiving credit for it. Well done, Viridian.

Hi All, just wanted to say that we went with Viridian for our solar panels.
Before going with Viridian, we looked at a few other companies that provided solar panel systems. But Viridian provided a good presentation, where they were able to provide an estimate of solar production based on the location of the house,panel orientation and average sun exposures. Their price was right, the warranties were the same as the other competitors.The installation was done in only a day. Veridian took care of the paperwork with BC hydro.The crew was friendly and knowledgeable. From July 21 (Installation day) to March 21th, we basically have cut down our hydro consumption in half compared to the previous year. Now, we have spring and summer to bank up Kwatts .. So far so good!
