This school when I first started attending was actually a decent school, however as of a couple months ago all of a sudden instructors are no longer allowed to give proper lectures and the students are required to learn most if not all of the information online. This is NOT what I paid for. False advertisement is an understatement compared to the twisted crap this school is pulling. They truly don’t care about the students and only care for the money. They say they care but if I am being honest being in the military made me feel like less of just a number than this school does. If I knew that this was going to be the outcome of my decision to go to this school I would have never started attending this god forsaken place. Change needs to happen and fast. To those of you who are considering attending UTI, DONT!!! Find somewhere that actually cares about your future and your education!!!

Hello my name is Ulysses McClover, I have graduated from the Cummins Engine Program at UTI - Houston on 10/04/2024 and have finished the Diesel Courses at UTI - Miramar. Even though I have graduated with a GPA of 3.94 and an attendance record of over 90%, I'm still having difficulty finding a job in the field. It's been weeks and now I'm facing homelessness in Houston, TX and it's even been suggested to me that I should try to find jobs outside of the field! It feels like I have wasted my time going to this institution and it seems like now that I have graduated, I'm only being given minimal help. I feel like a fool for ever believing that this school could help me better myself and get a good job. Now I'm paying the price for my foolishness.

My son has tried using VA benefits to go to this school and it has been nothing but a headache they do not seem to have good communication or a knowledge for how to use benefits. They will give you a run around constantly and try to get you to take out student loans to cover school. Avoid this school they will scam veterans and their dependents.

After reading all the negative and frankly disheartening reviews. I am inclined to not step into this school. I appreciate everyone’s honesty but feel for everyone’s situation. The main denominators I see: this school only cares about the numbers, the teachers can’t teach the 20-30 students and school debt after is high. Not to mention the help or support in career opportunities is lacking. From what I’ve read it seems this place will be better off leaving alone.

The teachers at this school are good, but everything else is terrible. They hire the most incompetent people to work for them. I tried to schedule an appointment with financial aid, and they booked me with someone who is deceased! His name was Sean O'Neal, as I was told over the phone. I’ve also been trying to contact them for about two weeks with no success. This has been a complete waste of time and money. LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS save your money and go to Community college.

Before MIAT was absorbed by UTI, it was at a better state, now it is god awful, like many of the students here we are told " We do not have enough materials to cover lecture or do our projects as the FAA states. since my time here there has been 6-9 GOOD instructors that have left because of UTI acquiring MIAT, they are overworked, underpaid and lack the school support to teach us students properly. The staff and schooling only do good or make everything up to standard when their accreditation time comes around. It took us 4~ months to get tools to do projects that are half ass put together, half the materials, engines, tools, are completely broken or non existent. DO NOT COME HERE AS OF OCTOBER 25TH as UTI has taken over MIAT.

I learned a lot from this school in the Collision program and enjoyed the experience. 80% of textbook work and 20% hands on training was the sad part about it. You learn nothing from the textbook when your out in the field of work. Every 3 weeks is a new course and they count attendance as a grade. If you hit 8 "infractions" they say you fail. you miss a day you get 3, if you attend atleast an hour you get 1. They expect you to be there even if you got a job in the way like how they pushed my estimating course in the afternoon session when I WORK in the afternoon. Every course I've been at is OUTDATED. Half the instructors were giving me some mean vibes. The refinishing instructor would always give an attitude when asking "dumb" questions. Was it worth going in 43k debt? nope. They say they help you get a job but I couldn't find any of the recommended job referrals because I already contacted them before hand. I was looking before graduating. I would recommend just walking into a shop and ask if they are hiring which I did. If your not from the Houston area, wouldn't recommend it. The housing they offer is you get to share rooms with random people and expect you to pay more and add fees. A friend of mine in there got himself evicted for not looking for a job sooner and the school did not help. Most employers at the career fair only look for automotive mechanics. The drop out ratings are way high in the Collision program because it's never a demand for it and Houston is highly populated. Most bigger shops like Ford, Chevrotlet, etc. are always constantly full and UTI hardly pays attention to the Collision program and only focuses on the welding and mechanic side. That's why everything there is so old and outdated. It was decent. it wasn't the best. Wouldn't recommend the Collision repair program

Very poor experience. Went here for Welding. Classes were overcrowded, 30 to 40 students. Instructors that did try didn't have enough time for each one. Most of them sat on their phone and could tell you what you were doing wrong but not how or why. Most of the equipment didn't work and instructors couldn't fix them so many students in my class had whole classes where they couldn't get anything done. Other classes were allowed to use materials we cut for our own class, meaning instead of welding we'd just spend time setting up other classes to weld. Night courses ran later than security cared to stay for in the parking lot, leading to a range of thefts.
School advertises career aid and certifications. They don't actually provide the former. The latter isn't AWS or any other kind of certification that companies are looking for. You'd do better and save a lot of cash by just hitting Home Depot and YouTubing the what and how, then trying for the AWS on your own.
