I have been a regular visitor to the Town Centre Recycling Depot for many years, as it is conveniently located close to where I live. Unfortunately, my recent experience on Saturday, July 20th, at around 5:30 PM was extremely disappointing. A staff member, who appeared older and possibly tired, was incredibly rude to me and to other visitors as well. This is a stark contrast to the many positive experiences I have had at this depot over the years. While the depot itself has been reliable, this one-star review is specifically for the poor attitude and unprofessional behavior of this staff member. I hope this issue is addressed, as it undermines the otherwise good service provided here.

After excellent service and no problems for 2 months, with bringing cardboard and glass, new rude staff insisted on id and refused to take recycling as I live in neighbouring municipality and, in a super condescending way, she said that property taxes fund the site and I should use a private bottle depot. As such, a small box of glass jars, which are infinitely recyclable, goes to the trash. Un-sure when this change happened but it’s a pity the old, friendly staff not there.

The attendant was friendly and helpful during our visit. Expanded recycling options include plastic foam, beverage containers and mixed paper besides cardboard. Easy access, but street parking only for unloading makes it difficult for those with physical challenges.

Nice place to get rid of big boxes when you don’t want to wait until next week’s garbage collection day. However, parking is very limited

Staff is friendly and kind, but they don't receive any recycling garbage for refunding(bottles and cans). You must go to the return-it Depot at Port Coquitlam 8 miles away! 🙁

Only accepts recycling from Coquitlam residents (does not include Port Coquitlam).
