Getting pulled aside for random load inspections every second time I come here yet there's never any issues after the inspection or before the inspection. They should not charge people who they waste time to randomly inspect loads or at least drop the minimum fee. I feel targeted and I don't know why I am being targeted I only have a pickup truck the load isn't large.

The man with the long hair who used to drive city bus now works here and is the rudest employee. Please train him.

The City of Red Deer promotes recycling etc. but they don't allow citizens to inspect dumped appliances for parts. Imagine a world like 15 years ago where if an appliance needed a new part you could go to the dump and find it in a few minutes but now the new parts cost almost as much as the new appliances and the city of red deer says you can't 'scavenge' parts to recycle an appliance and extend its life for several more years.

If you really cared about recycling you would let us find the parts we need for free instead of putting perfectly good appliances through the bin because the part I could see right there is worth $475 new and a new washer is minimal $600 so obviously I dumped my old washer there and got the new one with warranty for slightly more. I would have been happy to use my 7/16" socket to scavenger the part and extend my washer for potentially years but red deer recycling program hates reusing parts. If you were at least smart you would sell the parts for flat fees no returns. But we know red deer hemorrhages $ like most over regulated governments. With that said, the guy who usually works at appliance drop off is great it's not his fault the policy is wasteful.

Had time to transport , residential solid waste on family day . Site warned of irregular hours , no posting of the real times .
Called contact number , spoke with staff off site ( communication center)
They had no answers for real time activities on site . Recommendations.
Make a 24 mile , round trip . And take a chance on they might be closed .
And have to do the trip again . Trying to trip plan don't waste resources .
And run into gambling for a possible ( about 40 miles ) waste of fuel , time etc . And the City has NO ! Portal of communication , to facilitate responsible use of community ( necessary) resources.
I acknowledge that this is a far edge of the parameters . But to isolate such a significant resource, into cracks in the side wall. ?

It's alright...

Hours are shorter than they should be. Closes at 6:30 instead of 7:30 like it used to. One guy turned me away at 6:25 because he was too busy playing on his cell phone and playing security guard at the gate instead of doing his job.

They make you park so far from the bins that it slows the entire process down significantly. They also have the dump down to half capacity so that adds more time waiting. Usually the people I deal with there are decent, but last time I dealt with a real peach. Had zero answers for me about anything as was pretty rude. Would be nice to see this operation be a lot more efficient.

The agent giving the info was awesome but the payment rookie was so worried about you stopping a stop sign 30 ft from the gate he wasn’t even doing his job. He wouldn’t give me a recipe-t of his name either. Bad attitude and needs an adjustment after paying 25.00 to dispose a water cooler which I highly doubt gets dealt with properly after drop anyway. The electronics fella was also very polite and was doing his job.
