The dump is a good place to drop off a whole bunch of stuff you don't need anymore. But when there's no signs online indicating that they're not open on holidays. Kind of sucks when you load up your truck and trailer full of job site trash only having to turn around.
You think the landfill if it was a part of the city would do a little bit better diligence to indicate closures or specialized hours on holidays.

They need to change the way they calculate weight of compost from a mixed trailer load. They're going "policy" is removing 20% of the total loads weight for compost. They do not know the weight of the each item, and solely visually guessing weight of compost is a joke.

In my case I had some really heavy bags of compost (approx 60-70% of total weight) They contained wet grass/leafs and some had pine needles mixed with dirt and the bags have gotten rained on for 2 days. So they were fairly heavy. They need to change the way they weight out mixed loads. Drop off compost first, cause it's free. Then hop on the scale and weigh the rest that has a charge associated with it, this way you pay strictly the amount of the weight of garbage and not paying for compost drop off, which in my case cost me approx 15$ when it should've been free. When I mentioned something to girl behind the desk, she told me that's the way they do it and wouldn't offer any thing to make it fair.

I do 15-20 loads a year at this dump and I've had a good fair experiences to date, however this imcident alone makes me want to take my business elsewhere if this continues.

Next time I will request to unload the compost before I scale in the garbage to prevent paying for a service that is free.

I've been going to this landfill for years! The staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. I've pretty much been in every part of that landfill at one point or another. But remember, it is a landfill so drive cautiously and watch for the signs. And yes, they do charge a nominal fee for waste (other than most compostable waste) which should be expected; they do have staff and heavy machinery to maintain the facility. Good work, folks!

There are 2 people sitting in the office, one of them charged me $25 to drop off a mattress and an appliance, they gave me bad directions for where to put the mattress and they are going to get the benefit of the scrap metal for the appliance.

So I paid $25 to donate scrap metal and search for the location of the mattresses on my own.

I know you might pay more at other landfills, but the whole thing feels like a racket, with poor customer service.

3 stars because I know other places may charge more.

I found it odd how rude the lady was both going in and leaving; it looked like a pretty relaxed job. Also, charging people $10 when they do the right thing and bring their garbage to the dump is a bad plan. People huck their garbage in the ditch instead, and it makes things worse.
