The team on the parts & used car side have no idea what they’re doing. Their uPick parts pricing scheme rivals new aftermarket pricing. They have gotten ridiculous on what they charge for parts in the yard.

I’ve spent thousands over the past year, so this is not just one instance.

Jeff & Jon are the two most unprofessional and difficult people to speak with. They both have attitude problems and they absurdly over price used vehicles in the front of the yard.

The employees get a percentage of parts sold, so it’s in their best interest to charge you more!

An 1998 e39 5Series is listed for sale at $3000 in their yard. KBB in GOOD condition is a bit over $3000, and I mentioned this a couple of times. The e39 they are selling is in poor condition, that’s putting it nicely.

The price fluctuates all the time for this BMW, a few months ago the price was $1800, last month it was $2000, this month it’s $2500.

Jon said they don’t sell cars for less than $2500 today, which are that point they put it in the yard. Last month Jeff said they don’t sell cars for less than $2000. Well, which is it?

Then on both occasions they both said the wheels on the used e39 are worth $1500, which is laughable. If excellent refinished condition they could ask for $1500 but with the condition they are in is $400 at best.

If the rims were really $1500 they would have taken them off and sold them by now. Even at $1000 they would have taken them off for a quick profit if they were desirable. These are the old man rims not too many people want them.

Their e39 has a bad thermostat, the car over heats at idle, valve covers and oil filter housing is leaking which is know for these cars. Power steering is leaking, alignment is off, passenger rear window doesn’t work, battery is flat, door locks sometimes work. BMWs have a lot of aluminum parts that don’t rust, but everything that’s not aluminum on the body is rusting away; fenders, quarters, all the doors, trunk. Driver side fender is unpainted primer, passenger side fender looks like someone rattle canned the vehicle.

I will be posting photos along with this review to let readers know & judge for themselves.

Car has been siting for almost a year, I was looking to buy it for a friend as a winter beater. I don’t want the car for free but I’m not paying retail either.

It’s not this just this one instance, multiple instances like this are the reason I’m leaving this review and not going back to standard.

We know the cars & parts here are on their last life, it’s the attitude of the employees and asking for close to retail which is absolutely ridiculous.

I lost my 8000 cad after they sending seize engines multiple times .i filled pro bone case against them

I ordered car engine and I buy warranty 3300 cad including warranty and my mechanic installed with. Perfection but engine is failure to respond , so I called them and they said we will send another engine but they need previous engine back as you installed I said yes , in order to do that I have to pay to dismantle all parts , hydrolic Crain and stand by fees ,

Second time they sent engine and I am shocked as second engine is totally broken and all parts of engine is destructive

So we called multiple times and they dispatched third engine and this one we install with lot of hard work and dedication and we showed again because this engine has lot broken valves crakes and also terrible sound .

So I was wondering and helpless more than 2 months without car plus I paid more than 8000 cad for this mess

Their warranty. Company is big scam as well I explained everything but they don’t reply back and also I sent all videos and photos .

They never answer my phone 📞 calls and so I decided to go court

I called in and Spoke to Matt who was amazing with giving me the information and quote for a Front Differential for my BMw X3, he said I could have it shipped to the Scarborough Location the next day or I could pick it up in Port Hope. I opted to pick it up as it was early in the day and I could have it back and my car worked on right away.

When I go to Port Hope Location the staff was friendly but I had to wait what felt like about an hour before the part was picked and brought to the front as it wasn’t ready when I go there. After finally getting the part I drove back to Toronto only to find out the part I was given was the Rear Differential rather that the front differential which is what was on the invoice and the one I ordered.

I immediately called Matt and customer server who apologized and said they can send the correct one the next day and they would pick up the wrong part at the shop and asked for address.

The next morning I thought it was already being shipped but I called at 11am just to confirm and was told it wasn’t shipped out since I had picked up the part I would have to pick up the correct part. I was so upset and said if I didn’t call no one was going to call me and tell me this, so I ended up Driving to Port Hope again from my place in North York and when I get they customer service told me I would need to pay for the New one and get a refund when I return the old one. The old one was Downtown at the shop because it was supposed to get picked up after they dropped off the new one.

I wouldn’t have had time to first drive downtown and drop straight to port Hope so I could get the part back to my mechanic ASAP.

So I paid for the new one and left, I’m so upset that I wasn’t offered any compensation for this mistake on their part and wasted Time and Gas and loss of wages due to this error and all I was offered was Free Shipping of $25 when I went and pick up the item in the first place because I need it right away.

Lastly instead of picking up the item at the shop they only offered me to drop it off at Scarborough to get my refund on the wrong part and since it was on my Credit card it would take 5 business days for me to receive that back.

All in all it was the worst experience for me of time and money wasted on their error.

I probably will not be getting any other parts from here for fear of a mistake is made it would be made right by customer service and would definitely not be referring anyone else here for parts.

What an incredibly pleasant experience dealing with Standard Auto Wreckers! From the friendly young lady (Tracey) on the phone providing the helpful details regarding 'retiring' our Dodge Grand Caravan and making the pick-up appointment, to the amazing gentleman (Jake) who showed up promptly to 'escort' our van to the yard. We were treated like family, a fair price, free towing!! and useful tokens to use in their UPIC yard for whatever car part you are looking for. It was also good to learn that Standard practice responsible/green recycling, ensuring that all fluids and chemicals are not simply drained on the ground. We can highly recommend Standard Auto Wreckers.

I had a really pleasant experience here on Saturday during their $75 parts day. The event itself was great and I enjoyed it overall, but there are a couple of things worth mentioning. On regular days prices here tend to run higher compared to other local yards, which is why I don’t come too often. I was also a bit disappointed to find out they charged an extra $75 just for the cart. Regardless I walked out with a full cart 😆

The vehicle selection is decent, but some of the parts I needed were already gone—even though the car I was after was only posted a couple of days before the event. I understand that not everything will be there, that's nothing on them it was just a disappointment for me. That said, the overall experience was still good, and the atmosphere made it a worthwhile visit. I will continue to come back, everyone is very friendly and helpful!
