I was at a friend's home while Smitty's was on a service call. The technician was so straightforward, friendly and professional that I called them the next time we needed help with our AC unit. We then switched to Smitty's, set up a maintenance contract and have been with them ever since. For fourteen years they've been quick to help, great with communication, upfront and competitive with pricing, and always down-to-earth and professional. Just this week we came home from vacation to a toasty house on Sunday, left a voicemail Sunday night, had a call from Smitty's first thing Monday and were cool again by noon! Thank you for years of great service!

We've used Smitty's over the past few years and they have been nothing but courteous and responsive every time. When I initially called, Jimmy taught me how to clean a clog using a WetVac and has stayed on the phone with me as he walked me through it. He's actually dissuaded me from making a service call to save us money. Jimmy still walks me through on occasion and when the clog is too great, we schedule a service call. Ben is great when he's over and does a thorough check-up of our unit inside and out. We have a service plan with Smitty's and given the heat of the summer, we're glad we do. He highly recommend Smitty's just as they were highly recommended to us. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

Go elsewhere. A couple of months ago, my AC and thermostat suddenly stopped working on a Saturday. While the tech came within an hour (and that is why 2 stars vs 1), he indicated my flood switch was bad and the drain was clogged. My unit is only 2 years old. He changed the switch and cleared the drain from outside, but water/debris went all over inside closet and splashed on walls. I have a service contact and had it serviced every 6 months, and it was due for service within the next couple weeks. Well over $400 for the repair including 20% discount. Fine, I would have lived with that, but just 38 days later, the same issue occurred, and they were not willing to come out without me paying $159 to clear drain again. They just said, "It is FL," which seems like a frequent excuse whenever something does not work. My system is not running excessively at 77-78 degrees, and others I have talked to indicated it was probably not cleaned well when he came initially on that Saturday. I had another company come out to eval after the second clog, and they found extensive algae inside drip pan. I don't think the first tech ever checked/cleaned it, and new tech said it was highly unlikely that amount of algae would have accumulated in 38 days. Although I paid for the 2 service call visits, I really only got one and they were not willing to schedule it for later. The new company cleaned the drain and guarantees for 6 months.
