From the initial consultation with Ramon to post- installation (orientation) with Jill, the whole team was professional, knowledgeable and efficient.They walked us through every step of the process, answering all our questions( and there were many) making sure we felt confident in our decision. The installation itself was seamless and timely, with a very skilled and professional installers.

Our project manager and contact person, Jill McDavid was outstanding. She helped make the entire process smooth and stress- free, making herself available to answer any questions and address any concerns that we were having. Jill went the extra mile by coming to our house at the end of the installation process , helping us with some technology issues we were having. We really appreciated the hands on support and commitment to making sure everything worked smoothly.

It's been one year since Skyfire installed our solar panels. My only regret was that my roof can't hold more panels. Love them and going with Skyfire was the right choice.

We asked 3 companies to quote to install solar panels on our south facing roof in SW Calgary (plus inverter, monitoring software, etc.) All three quoted the same solar panels, but they differed in terms of inverters and recommendations re: electrical panel upgrades and willingness to install an EV charger concurrent with the other electrical work. SkyFire was NOT the low quote. BUT they won our business for several reasons, including: 1) longest track record; 2) the only company to do a site visit prior to providing a quote (we paid a couple hundred dollars for this visit, credited against the contract price, well worth it to know we would get a truly firm quote, not one subject to change once they were on site); 3) exceptionally patient/knowledgeable sales rep (Colin) who set-up direct access to other experts at Sky Fire for the two questions he couldn’t answer as in depth as we wanted; 4) they purchase carbon offsets for the production of the solar panels they install; 5) they were the most transparent re: the fact that our electrical panel needed an upgrade and were willing to provide a firm price for the work; and 6) they were realistic about the timing for the installation (approximately 3 months after we signed the contract in April 2023).

The solar panel installation went very smoothly. They also did great work on the electrical panel upgrade. We also had them install a Level 2 EV charger, which required a site visit by their service manager before it was running properly. They also came back a few times to check the set up on the monitoring software interface, not satisfied until we were satisfied.

We opted for a string inverter, which failed 5 months after installation. SkyFire promptly replaced it with a unit from inventory, to minimize our system downtime. They also dealt with the warranty claim directly so we didn’t have to get involved at all.

The only aspect where they fell the tiniest bit short of perfect was leaving us to navigate the Greener Homes grant and loan application processes by ourselves. But that’s minor in the overall scheme of things. And those portals were fairly straightforward to use.

Once the installation was complete, we had our microgenerator status approved by Enmax within a few weeks. We recovered 7% of the SkyFire contract price (solar + EV charger) by the end of the year and estimate about 20% simple payout by the end of 2024.

Highly recommend. And thanks to the entire SkyFire team for a job very well done.

Jill, the project manager, kept us updated, answered all our questions, and even scheduled our installation earlier than expected. The installation crew Evan the group lead, Ethan and Phil were professional, efficient, and completed the job on time.

The post-installation close-out meeting with Jill was thorough and informative. She reviewed the installed system, showed us how to monitor our power generation remotely, and went through the warranty details. The detailed owner's manual provided all the information we needed to understand and maintain our new solar system.

Awesome company. All staff were super-friendly and helpful. Communication was excellent throughout. We have an oddly-shaped roof and I wanted to max-out the number of solar panels up there. They under-promised and over-delivered 30 panels for a ~12 kW DC system, and it looks great with black panels and black rodent-guard mesh around the edges of the panels.

I'm saving almost $300/month with ENMAX in the summer months, which is exactly what we expected, so I'm on track for a 12-20% internal rate of return (including $5,000 federal subsidy and 0% federal loan, which not everyone will get). That's everything I could've asked for so I'm 100% satisfied 👌
