OK... I personally have been to a lot of scrap yards within a past years... No I'm not a scraper, I'm a plumber. I find it difficult going to different places as the rules are different at each place. I went there today and didn't feel like a dumbass, as the staff gave me more then enough details of how and where to go to make my life easy..

All 3 of the guys that I saw were more then welcoming..

Said they would give me $40 for a catylitic conv. Went to Shamrock and got $300!
Put ni effort into quoting the cat, just poked it with a stick, Shamrock actually takes a picture and gets a value through a program.

Al is always friendly, the process is fast, the rest of the staff aren't always responsive and the drive in towards the big piles is full of potholes and I'm nervous about puncturing my tires.

Very untrue. Before unloading, I asked specifically what the difference would be...politely. I trusted his response when he said it wasn't worth it. After it was already unloaded and being berated and sworn at by staff immediately, just for asking...politely, I found out it was $17. A cast BBQ gets more than that. Your staff is not being honest with you. I'm sorry, but treating two cast aluminum transmissions as if it was steel IS a big difference and worth the time. That's why I asked and trusted his judgement , but was lied to. Offering g to reload after being sworn at and being told I wasn't the type of customer you wanted...just for asking..I just wanted out of there. Your staff was dishonest with me and judging from your comment, doing the same with you.

This place is great, much better than some of the other scrap yards around. The staff are helpful to tell me how to sort my scrap for them. Easy to deal with and friendly.
