In Germany every time you get an x-ray, you swipe your Radiation card Which detects how much radiation you are receiving in your lifetime

We don’t do that in this country Canada!! but after a historical disaster where we lost so much of the Northumberland tree canopy Our government is weighing every single twig

They are not weighing it at every dump, but The photo below clearly shows 25 cars idling carbon into the air waiting while we weigh every twig. Huge waste, not only in shrub, but in time, money taxes and life and God bless the planet for all the cars idling here waiting for every twig to get Weighed. That’s the Monday morning, Rick Mercer Rant!!!

I like coming here, the staff is very friendly and helpful. It's not a complicated place at all. For those of you that say it's really slow, don't forget this is a small community , it's not the big city that you are use to. It takes time, relax

Simple, and works. 1 scale in and out like MOST dump sites. Much better price than garbage tags, if you have 3 bags or more. The lady usually operating the scale is always nice. Folks should remember this is a dump site after all, not a resort that caters to your every need. I recommend this place 👌

Nothing against the staff they are always helpful.
Edit: I take that back. The guy that works there is a real piece of work. I know people have good and bad days, but this guy has rubbed me the wrong way a few times. Today the place was completely deserted near closing and I missed the stop sign. He almost came out to tell me to go back to the sign. When I came up to pay he couldn't help himself but to read me the riot act about missing the sign, despite my apology. Rules for the sake of rules and Mr. landfill is the king. The guy is in a continuously bad mood with zero customer skills.
...

The design layout is poor. One scale covering both in and out traffic causes lineups. Recycling is discouraged because the drop-off point is behind the scale and they will bill you full pop to drop it off.

Styrofoam recycling is an issue since local curbside will not deal with it. What to do with large cardboard and Styrofoam pieces? Either pay $12 or waste gas driving to a REAL recycling facility in Peterborough. So much for green. Don't even get me started on Trent hills charging $4 PER BAG for garbage....

Management -> FIX IT

Great facility with very friendly staff!

Please note, you must live in the area to be able to use this facility. They will ask for proof of address, fyi.

Human operating the scale needs some customer service training. Come here once a year to drop off household recycling etc...everytime I go through here she's a complete Beauty to deal with. Some people need to own their own business before they work in customer service. If she worked for me she would be long gone.

They are a 5 in the friendly category but a 0 in the fast and efficient category. Their pace in moving vehicles is glacial and they take inexplicable time to give the green light to either side.

This place looks trashy, but the staff are very friendly. However, I was a little confused when entering because all the products are stored in large orange bins, and many seem to be heavily used or broken. I was confused when employees crushed the products with excavators, but they say that way it takes up less space. Besides these downfalls, it's a great shopping experience.
