An incredible organization bringing an impressive roster of speakers and performing artists from around the world to our own Sarasota. Not to be missed!

The lectures are fantastic. The Venice venue is not, as they pack people in like sardines with seats shoulder to shoulder and not enough room to walk safely between isles when people are seated. I tripped trying to go to a seat over someone and fell. That has NEVER happened to me before anywhere else.

The seating presents a second problem as well. You can forget social distancing at these lectures. They say they will require masks this year, but as masks are not mandatory in Florida I don't see how they can enforce that.

If you don't mind seeing the lectures on-line, that continues to be an option. I am considering that.

An incredible nonprofit organization that we are blessed to have available. Great speakers and musicians are presented each week during 'season' at an extremely good price.

Today, March 8th, I and some friends attended the lecture on India by Alyssa Ayers in Venice. I have been attending these wonderful lectures for years, and as you may hear, some are wonderful, some not so. Today's was one of the worst--only because Ms. Ayers was so pedantic! She read as fast as she could from her notes, volumes of data (non of which was terribly interesting), and although the subject (India) could have been a delight to hear about, her presentation was dry, overwhelming with screen after screen of of boring facts presented in a monotone style! How disappointing!
I've never commented on any lecture before, but I felt that I had to vent my feelings with the hope that the above is construed as constructive and not just mean-spirited. Thanks...Barry Schecht
