I have experienced a very good customer service every time I called them, either for the water heater or heat pump inquiries. Call centre is always fast, no waiting times and answers were always prompt and accurate. Quite satisfied so far.

I also inherited a heat pump rented through Saint John Energy when I purchased a new house and wouldn't recommend this service to anyone.
My heat pump stopped working December 15, 2023. I made multiple calls to get my first appointment, which ended in a technician being here for 10 minutes and didn't end up fixing the problem. Over the next 4 months (the entire winter season) my heat pump didn't work at all. Every month, my partner and I made multiple calls to Saint John Energy and Greenfoot trying to schedule a repair. On two separate occasions I had to take time off work to meet service technicians, who came to look at the pump but left without doing any repairs or giving me any information. I never got follow up calls and again had to call them myself to see what the issue was and what the next step was. At the end of this call I was always told someone would call me back, which often didn't happen.
The heat pump was finally fixed on April 19th.
Saint John Energy did refund my monthly fee of $69+tax for 4 months. They do not however offer any reimbursement or empathy for the four months I relied on more expensive secondary heat sources throughout the entire winter season, or all the time I had to spend making phone calls and taking time off work to have service calls where nothing was done. It was a very frustrating 4 months and I felt as though I was doing all the administrative work for this company myself. When I inquired about cancelling the service and having the heat pump removed, I was told that I would have to wait 2 weeks and pay a $600 termination fee.

Just bought a house and had to take over the heat pump rental. The rental is $69+tax. The old home owners were locked in on a 3 year contract, which ends next month. I called to enquire about either getting rid of it or buying it out. Seems like neither are an option! There is an $800 removal fee! So I am pretty much forced to continue to rent this thing at a ridiculous monthly cost. It’s disgusting that they can get away with this. All I can say is DO NOT rent a pump from them. It makes absolutely no sense to do so.

The folks in Customer Service / Billing truly embody the term; "Customer Service". They really do go the extra mile! After being a customer for 12 years, I just had to say how great the people are at SJE. Thanks Tom and Steve!
