With all the bad reviews I thought I would still go with Mike to get sod installed in one day. The sod looks nice and was installed in the one day. But there are two issues that would prevent me from recommending him are probably issues that have been posted.
I paid to have my irrigation redone and the retail cost of rainbird heads. They are over spraying and wasting water and are not adjustable. I am going to have to replace them myself if I want to conserve water. He says that the grass needs to have the edges watered but my patio has a puddle after each watering. Also when the job was done I should have done a walk through. I didn't think they would leave the pile of old PVC in a pile in my back yard or not clean up the dirt around the edges of the sod. I asked for him to come back and clean it up. First he said the recycle bin had just been emptied. That would have been good I said. Then it was that I "didn't pay for disposal". Some of the PVC is in at least 8' pieces and needs to be cut up to put in the bin. His response: "While we were there
Of course it would have taken 5 minutes to scoop the pipes up and place them in your can (same as it will for you)
The issue is that we have the ¿14.00 pipe cutter and you dont own one""We can not come. We do not have any spare time"
There you go. I think he works at bad reviews, god forbid that a job goes smoothly and they do proper clean up. I think there are people that would be more appreciative of the business and do a better job, honestly. A pro doesn't leave a mess behind.

We hired Mike and his crew to install sprinklers, improve our soil, level and sod our back yard after a previous construction project left it in shambles. Mike and his crew were courteous, very clean and organized and delivered on the services they promised. They communicated very well with adjustments and changes. We felt Mike had a genuine concern to help us keep costs reasonable. Their work was high quality and we are very pleased with our yard and would highly recommend them.

Mike and his crew did a fantastic job on my backyard! The crew showed up on time (even a few minutes early, actually) and got right to work, pulling up the old grass and weeds, and tilling the soil. They then wheeled in the compost and tilled the soil again to get a good mix, which is what my area really needed. Halfway through laying the sod, I decided that I wanted a Ficus tree removed from the area, and the crew chopped it down and removed the huge roots within an hour or so. They even used the chainsaw to break down the tree into smaller, more manageable pieces since I decided to dispose of it myself to save a few bucks. It was pretty amazing watching them work. Within a couple of hours my backyard looked unrecognizable in the best way possible. Definitely recommend RotoTillerGuy to anyone who is looking to revamp their yard. I plan to use them again once it's time to make over our front yard.

I contacted RotoTillerGuy because I needed some sprinklers repaired. I spoke with Mike and, in my mind I was trying to figure out when a good day would be for him to come out, much to my surprise after I told him what I needed he started telling me what I needed to do to repair the sprinkler on my own. YES! I was blown away with that. I brought up another situation and Mike continued to tell me what I needed to look for.

I'm going to try the repair on my own and I will not hesitate to contact Mike again, which he said to call him back if I needed more help. When I get into a situation where I really need landscaping help, guess who I'm going to call; yep, I'm calling Mike because I don't feel like he is going to try to take advantage of a situation

$100 overcharge but was not aware until a receipt for doing a smart water rebate was sent over. He quoted $225 for the price of the controller unit alone ? it was only $125. He even urged me to write a review before I received this receipt. I confronted and he ghosted. If you like to text and email to keep information organized / have a paper trail. This guy will just call instead of responding in writing. Mr. six phones.

Edit: I was very thorough with questions. This was in regards to pricing for the water smart rebate. Literally not complaining about labor pricing but rather inability to properly quote. If someone asks for a direct price of the device itself without labor and you are told $225 you assume you’ll be applying for a rebate where you’ll likely get most of that back. Nope. Lost 100 in that miscommunication.

Also, no one helped set up this device. What a joke of a response. It’s rude that you would assume my issue is with labor instead of poor communication. May be time for an assistant.

Mike is wonderful. I’m in the process of selling my home and all of a sudden the drip hose is flooding my garden! I call in a panic and he calmly talks me through everything I need to do right over the phone. He explained what was happening and what needed to happen. He was concise and calm and patient. He turned what was feeling like a nightmare to calm seas. In fifteen minutes we were done. Everything over the phone. And the most amazing part was he didn’t even charge me. Not a dime.
I’m only sorry I never hired him to do my landscaping and sprinklers and all. But I hope whoever is reading this does. He took time out of his day on the Sunday of a long weekend to fix my issue. He’s also very pleasant to speak with and obviously knows his stuff. I couldn’t have felt luckier. Thanks, Mike.

Mike is very knowledgeable and his crew is efficient and professional. His price is reasonable as well, and I am very pleased with the job he did for me. He is able to keep costs down by typically using an online estimating tool, rather than site visits. This is great, but it does assume a straightforward job without complications (long distance / stairs from yard to street, excess roots, problematic sprinklers, etc.). Basically all things that add extra time to the job. If these conditions are present at your job site, there are bound to be additional charges above the original estimate. Mike was straightforward in explaining this to me beforehand, and in tracking additional man hours spent to deal with these kinds of issues. Having a lot of experience with construction trades, I found this to be reasonable and fair. I was satisfied with the process and the outcome, and am enjoying my new lawn!

I had an issue with a leaky sprinkler valve and called Mike for a quote. Upon hearing my issue, he was upfront with me and suggested that the repair wasn't that complicated. He called and texted me, walking me through the situation and giving me a specific shopping list for items needed, and how to use them. Mike is great; he stuck with me (a real rookie) and helped me over the phone when i made mistakes. Surely, he'd make the time to come out and charge me for the work, but he genuinely cares more about helping you get the job done than making a buck. Thank you Mike!
