Disappointed, the woman made a comment about checking for junk. I brought everything new or almost new with many of the prices still on. I understand their trepidation but I was turned off. I had also called ahead as to what I could bring, given the ok and then told that it didn't fit their store vibe for what they sold. Just disappointed.

Staff was nice but didn’t find anything worth buying and some things were kind of pricey like old hockey gloves for 30 dollars. Seems like a nice community place to visit.

I think I found a new favorite second hand place.

Lately the prices have gone threw the roof. I am sometimes shocked at what they're asking for random stuff. $200+ for a large picture. Not an original piece of art...just a mass produced framed print.

Has always been around since I can remember. If your in need of things for your house you can call and they will help you out with cheaper options for you. Always have unique things coming in always something new. The staff has always been friendly. You can drop off furniture that is still in good shape and they can take it for you instead of paying for it to go to the dump.

Super friendly staff. Just came to browse; found some cute glassware and a nice vintage table (everything - mint condition). Everything in the store was an additional 60% off. Ended up getting everything for under $6. Definetly will be going back for more finds.

Fairly priced vintage items and friendly in-store staff, but don’t bother donating, unless you want to deal with rude attendants who work in the back.

Please know that this review does not reflect upon the store itself or the in-store staff (I would give them a higher rating), but my experience with the donation intake attendants who work in the back was a negative one.

My family has been shopping at the Collingwood ReUse Centre for three years now and we often find vintage and gently used treasures at an affordable price. The staff at check out have always been pleasant and helpful but after today I can’t say the same for their donation intake (or “back room”) staff.

I do not have a car, so I need to transport my donations in a cart. On this occasion I packed some items in one large paper bag, a smaller bag of frames, and put several larger items (lamp, candle holder, etc) at the top of my cart. Normally, I will drop off donations at the front desk when I come to do my shopping, but today I noticed the loading door was open, so I went there first. I shouldn’t have bothered.

I greeted an attendant, who seemed less than thrilled to speak with me, and after asking if I could drop off my donations, I began unpacking the items. The attendant impatiently told me that they do not accept donations that aren’t in boxes (I was never told this in the past). I apologized but told her I had to bring them in my cart and boxes would not fit. She then came back with some empty boxes and dropped them at my feet. As I was trying to box my donations, another attendant saw me in the doorway (we made eye contact) and nearly shoved a couch right into me. I had to scramble just to get out of the way! He then walked over as I was putting a brand new “Brave” bow and arrow set from the Disney Store in the box. He yanked it out and said in a harsh tone, “No! We don’t take kids toys!” That was the only toy I brought and I have seen toys at the store before. He then rooted through my box of donations and pulled out the bag of books and frames and said “Nah, uh-uh! We're not taking picture frames!”

Both of these employees were extremely rude and unprofessional! I approached the intake attendants with a smile on my face and spoke in a positive manner. I would have thought that a community focused organization would treat donors with the same respect as their customers. I should have gathered all of my donations and carted them home in the heat, but I was taken aback by the way I had been treated and the thought didn't occur to me.

Donations can be easily thrown in a garbage bag and left at the side of the road, but I think it’s important to help organizations that give back to the community and limit waste. From now on I will find an establishment that appreciates donations AND donors.

I occasionally stop in for a quick look, they have an assortment of household items. It's nice to find something here that suits your needs instead of purchasing new. It saves numerous items from the landfill, and every little bit helps the environment.
