If the green bin isn't wrapped with a bowtie, it's a crapshoot if they take it. My experience is it has to be one single large paper bag filled, multiple smaller full paper bags along with full green liner bags individually within and they may reject it

Since they only collect garbage every 2 weeks it’s great when they can not even take a half full bin and claim it is too heavy. Since there were tied off bags inside perhaps take 1 bag out and make it 45 lbs. it has taken 6 months of inconsistent garbage collection and poor excuses for not taking items. One week they will take 3 bags. Next week they take none because they are not in bins? We have a property with 3 units and they said max 4 per unit. We had 9 bags they took none. 4x3 is 12 bags not zero.
Not our first issue and I can assume won’t be our last.

Careful. You'll be asked to back hundreds of feet into broken glass, boards full of nails and other trash. Punctured tires, bent up license plate and hung up trash in your axles will happen.

Collecting garbage from from dumpsters in a residential area prior to 7am .... noise bylaw infraction. Trucks shouldn't be leaving the yard until then. Residents are really tired of it. Time to get hold of bylaw I guess. Back up alarms, banging of dumpsters. Gets old really fast.

Just a note to say how much we love the folks who manage our waste in uptown Waterloo. They are professional (never leave any kind of mess), friendly, on time, and never once have I seen a trail of liquid waste or anything. (Have in other places!) Bins are always neatly stacked right after they leave. They let us know if we have mistakenly put something in the wrong bin. Also, I love getting compost that our region produces! The soil is gorgeous and my garden shows how good it is. Keep up the great work.

We have a residential property and I absolutely love segregation of waste in the right bins. But several times the garbage collecting trucks just dump more waste in our yard. While I don’t complain on most days, and understand that their job is tough. But then they missed collecting our recycling + kitchen waste. They did they same to two other neighbours as well. The customer service in the morning was nice and helped us build a case for pickup. Then we received a call back (from the same number) explaining that they are reviewing gps + camera footage and our bins weren’t out on time so we were left hanging in the heat of 30 degrees whether leave our kitchen waste our or get it back in the garage. So I call back the same number I had received a call from in the evening to get an update and she just goes on a rant about how they don’t know what waste management does on their end, and that they only take calls. She wasn’t even listening to what I had to say. She was not at all helpful, and was super rude!

What's the point of offering curbside collection of bulky items and then not picking up said item on collection day and not offering any explanation for the reason of refusal? Calling into the Region is no help either as the call centre staff just reads off of what's publicly available on the waste management's website and refuses to escalate issues to supervisors. Super frustrating!!
