Very clean, but not a lot of signage. I had been told that dropping off items was free; but not the case. After entering I was chased down by an angry woman in a golf cart, who made me exit, re-enter and pay the fee, and was quite rude about it. It is under $10 for a small load, which I was happy to pay, but again, no signage which said this so first-timers like me would know. The guy in the booth was not talkative at all, and grunted one word answers to my questions. But, now that I know the “rules” I will continue to use this facility, because it is very well kept and clean.

Well organized and conveniently laid out recycling and garbage transfer station. I've been using this location since the early 90s when it was an old industrial dump, with gravel pathways, a ton of dust and difficult manoeuvring. The Cowichan Valley Regional District completely rebuilt this fantastic facility, and it functions so much better! I appreciate that they continue to expand the items they take for recycling.

Very clean and organized. A place for everything, most items (with exception of actual garbage) are free to drop off. Even the garbage fees are reasonable. No need to be dumping stuff in the woods.
I only wish they were fully open year-round. Currently open Wed-Sun in the summer only; then Wed/Sat/Sun for rest of year. People have just as much recycling and garbage in fall/winter so why not keep it open and prevent people from illegal dumping?

I had a great experience unloading a trailers worth of recyclables. Mostly boxes and paper but I also had other things. I had paint cans, containers of all sorts, some electronics plastic bags ect. The staff were so helpful. I hate recycling but they made it as painless as possible.

We live in Ladysmith and are so thankful that we have a recycle place so close to us. It even has public washrooms.

It is open three days a week in the winter but if people cannot get their stuff there on a Saturday or Sunday, they are just being lazy. Very few work seven days a week and cannot fit recycling in.

We borrowed the land from the next generation so lets use it wisely. My parents and my wife's parents taught us well.
