I had just flown in for a business trip when I discovered my water bottle had spilled in my backpack and drenched my laptop, rendering it unable to turn on. Having to meet clients that afternoon, I was almost resigned to buying a new laptop, but I’m glad I stopped here first. Within just a couple of hours and for a reasonable fee, they were able to resurrect it back from the dead. I’m very grateful and will absolutely be coming back here with any future needs in Vancouver.

Larry has fixed 3 unrelated laptop issues for me over the past couple of years. Each time I come by, the communication has been great, the pricing has been fair, and the laptop has survived. I would definitely recommend if you're having any computer problems!

I've used this shop a couple of times for hardware repairs. I'm just really, really impressed. When you're laptop screen goes black and you panic.....this needs to be your "go to" spot. Well deserved 5 star review....

I’m not sure where all the praise about the “cheap and reasonable pricing” comes from. I took my laptop in for thermal paste replacement and diagnostics, and was charged $100 upfront before any work was done. I returned an hour later and had to wait for another customer to be assisted. After about 10 minutes, I waited another 5 minutes for my device to be brought out, and then was charged an additional $50 for “extra work time,” even though the technician was spending that time on the other customer, not mine. To make matters worse, no diagnostics were actually performed, as my laptop crashed just an hour after the “repairs” were completed. So, not only was the price not reasonable, but I was also charged extra for 30 minutes of labor that didn’t even apply to my device.

I’ve visited PC Galore twice, and unfortunately, I’m unsure if I would return or recommend it to others based on my experiences. Throughout my visits, I felt that the interactions lacked the customer service and kindness I had hoped for. The atmosphere often felt dismissive and impatient, which added to the frustration of dealing with technology issues. I was initially willing to give them a second chance, but my overall experience has left me disappointed.

Great service, they are very knowledgable. After sales service also very good. Transferring my old files onto new machine took longer than i thought but it was thorough.

I would exercise caution when considering PC Galore in Vancouver for computer repairs. I initially brought in my desktop computer with a failed SSD and requested an upgrade to a 1 TB drive from my original 500 GB. The computer worked fine afterward, so about a year later, I decided to bring in my laptop for an SSD upgrade as well.

Unfortunately, after the laptop repair, I noticed a broken hinge with missing screws, that was neither disclosed nor pointed out when I picked it up. When I raised the issue, the staff denied responsibility, and one employee was notably rude during the conversation. I understand that older laptops can have wear and tear, but transparency about any discovered issues should be standard practice.

Adding to my frustration, I later discovered that the SSD installed in my desktop was only 500 GB despite being charged for a 1 TB upgrade. When I brought this to their attention during the laptop issue, I was met with excuses and claims that too much time had passed (over a year) to verify what had been done.

To their credit, the owner did reach out to address my concerns, but by that point, my confidence in their service was completely lost. I wasn't bringing any computers back to this place. Overall, it was a disappointing experience with poor accountability and customer service.

REPLY TO YOUR UNETHICAL RESPONSE:

I will dig up reciept and post a photo on here to show you work paid for. A 1TB was paid for.

Second, my laptop, when I picked it up, you said you tried to tell me, you are the male owner, I remember talking to you on the phone. I came in on a Saturday and picked up from a shorter Asian lady and was told nothing so that's a lie. When I brought it back in 2 DAYS LATER - not 6 months later - so silly - one of your guys, a bald dude, we had it out a bit because I also addressed the missing screws and the broken hinge, poor customer service and he was extremely rude, like beyond. However, when the owner - you, called me, it was much better communication from you but still wasn't accommodating and did not own any responsibility. That's when I brought up the 1TB SSD that was supposed to be in my desktop. You told me sometimes its hidden. I never found anything, and just replaced my desktop harddrive (hence the frustration with this review after so much time). They confirmed no 1 TB SSD in it. So ill be sure to post the reciept. If I was told on pick up of the laptop hinge, It would of been a completely different story. I get things can happen. But when I later brought it to another shop. They said because the screws were missing. They had glued it backtogther and that the laptop was no longer fixable. So a bit of advice. Think twice about deflecting responsibility before knowing all the facts. Just be straight up. Notify me that when spending money on a laptop that has a broken hinge and can't be fixed. I would of paid you labour and scrapped the new parts and been on my way.

My partner and I have been to PC Galore many times over the last few years for repairs, assembly help, buying parts, etc. The folks here are always friendly and straightforward about our options, efficient with their services, and up front about the cost. We appreciate them and are really glad to live near this shop!
