HRM's garbage policies are overly restrictive for no good reason.

Can't dump cardboard at the dump, can't bring building materials (even something as small as some scrap wood).

Why not have C&D dump bins/cardboard that get shipped to the proper facility...compared to forcing hundreds of people drive around.

Called ahead of time to confirm with the landfill the material we have is acceptable. Arrived Saturday May 29th, waited in line and was denied by an older lady who was rude and unprofessional claiming they would not accept the waste. She never even gave us a chance to say what we had. If she hates her job that much she ahould retired.

The older lady at the window is miserable. She should not be allowed to work with the public. Very rude and unprofessional. She needs to find another job that will make her happy. Will be sending and email to the city as well.

1 star cause I can't give a 0. After waiting in line for 45 minutes we get to the window to be told to go to another location which just closed (3pm) but numerous workers drove past and flagged is in to the line clearly seeing we had drywall in our truck. Very unprofessional on the workers part.

Note as of fall 2020 they don’t take cardboard anymore. The enviro depot next to value village in bayers lake was easiest place for that. Otherwise we’ll worth it for household waste to take to otter lake.
