My favorite place to shop!

Edit: Im going to switch my 5 star to a 4 star. The last time I went thrifting with my kids, we bought a cart full of stuff and the cashier asked me if I had any bags & that it’s a new policy to bring your own. I had no idea. She said she didn’t have any bags or boxes for me and I’m not allowed to use the cart to bring my stuff out even if I brought it right back in. They watched me and my kids haul out piles of stuff without offering any help. Then a couple days ago we went shopping again & forgot bags, but they now have bags for $1 each.

As a family with little kids, this was my favourite place to shop for kid clothes since they often had “fill a bag of clothes for $5”. Then the price switched to $7. Now everything is individually priced. It’s hardly worth buying second hand anymore, with prices going up it discourages people. When I shop seasonal clearance at retail stores I have found brand new pants for $1.50 at old navy, normal price was $40.

I would have to agree with all the other reviews about the blonde hair manager, my goodness, she is always so disrespectful. I asked her if the “fill a bag of kid clothes” sale was going that day. She said in a snappy tone that they have new management & kid clothes are now individually priced since “we hardly ever got any kid clothes”. More like they just want to make more money off what you buy 😉 any time I’ve gone they’ve had 3 wooden bins full of clothes that takes at least 2-3 hours to dig through. She’s the only employee I don’t like. Actually there might be one other lady who was so disappointed that I got a good deal on a toy that “should have been priced more and I’m going to have to talk to someone about that”. Other than that, everyone is very friendly & I’ll still shop here occasionally since some prices are reasonable.

Found several fantastic items, but the best were an electric foot massager, and a set of tiny forks that are identical to the ones we have at home that are slowly degrading and we were down to just 2. Now we've got a full set of 12 brand new ones! My mom uses them daily so I'm happy to have found them. Also got several pieces of wood I can use in my art!

I used to love Mission Thrift at the old location the staff were warm and the store felt very welcoming. Sadly, at the new spot the blonde manager with straight hair has made visits really unpleasant. She’s consistently rude, and seems to take basic questions or feedback as a personal attack. I would honestly love a notice at the door on days she works so I avoid. I wish her the best nonetheless.
On top of that, the prices are completely unreasonable, donation-based items being marked up like a boutique. A thrift store should be accessible, not greedy.

It’s disappointing, because I really wanted to keep loving this place.

Nice clean store and was greeted by a very kind gentleman. I can't say the same about the blonde manager. She made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome for missing where the lineup was. She saw us standing there for a long time and didn't say anything until people got in front of us and we thought it was our turn. She does not seem to like toddlers.

The worst thrift store ever. It is used to be my favorite one when it was at the old location, but with the change of the store manager the store became unrecognizable, they sell only garbage. When I questioned the store manager why they stopped selling gold, silver and designer costume jewelry, she told me that anything that has any value is sold to the vendors, not to the public. Another reason is that the person who is in charge of the jewelry department has her own online jewelry store. How convenient. When i asked the store manager about the conflict of interest, she told me to find another store and shop somewhere else. It was extremely rude, very unprofessional as i used to be a regular customer of thiss store and donor as well. She was extremely rude, very aggressive, defensive. She didn't even listen to me. She was shouting at me. If I could put 0 or minus to rate this store, I would. What upsets me even more is that this store uses God and religion to make people believe that the store has a good and noble cause and to make people to bring more donations. So greedy... I would never ever recommend this store.

Pros:
✅ Large Store – Spacious with a wide variety of items.
✅ Good Selection – Lots of toys, kids' clothes, electronics, and glassware.

Cons:
❌ Overpriced Items
❌ High Taxes
❌ Disorganized – Kids' clothes in massive bins, hard to sort through.
❌ Electronics & Glassware Pricing – Didn’t check, but other items suggest they may be overpriced too.

Final Thoughts:

This store has potential due to its size and variety, but the overpricing and disorganization make it frustrating to shop at. If prices were fairer and items better organized, it could be much better.

Would I return? Only if prices drop or for very specific items.

Your return policy discriminates against those less fortunate. You call yourself . You have no change rooms, no way to test electronics, and no returns. Even Value Village allows returns or exchanges within reason. This the second time I bought something electronic and it doesn't work. Sure, when you plug it in, it turns on, but it doesn't function like it's supposed to. You don't sell "gently used". You sell garbage. Your "integrity" core value should join the heaping pile of crap you sell. Edited to add: the response from the store is more "marketing bull". You're concerned about customer safety? What about customer satisfaction at buying something we're told works that doesn't? And no change rooms? People who thrift, either for environmental or economic reasons, should be allowed to try clothes on in advance, just like if they bought new. No change rooms is pure laziness on your behalf, and discriminatory in my opinion.
