So I move here in June, pay my bills until October because I have not received any ! So I call and explained this - I'm told that because of the previous owners were seasonal I guess I am too Really. So I'm asked if I want a bill every month ‍♀️, of course I do if you people wanna be paid...oh, we'll get our money she says, you pay now or later !! So without an exact amount I had to pay $400, just before Christmas - unbelievable
!! Extremely unorganized......?

Never any answers but, always extra charges. Every time the power goes out the service people never have any idea what's going on or how long it's going to take but, they definitely know how much more your bill will be. I'm ashamed that this is our basically ONLY place to get power that we are FORCED to rely on and they only take take take.

Takes them days to weeks to turn the power back on. Today is a nice sunny day, no wind, powers been out for hours because nobody at this company bothers to do any type of maintenance on their electrical lines.

Anybody moving to Prince Edward Island beware. This company is poorly organized. They can't commit to the turning power on when scheduled. This is the only place that has made me feel unwelcome moving here. They try to say I was stealing power when I was the one that called and told them power shouldn't be on yet in fact it was old tenants Earnest Raynor. They drag there feet to get anything powered up after letting them know of this theft. Poor customer service. I have a feeling this is gonna be the company that doesn't care about its customers as there is no competition for power here.

I think the Maritime Electric crew out on the streets are doing their best with what they have, so thank you all for you're efforts. I appreciate everything you're doing to get the power restored.

But, those who run the company should have had an emergency plan in place well before Fiona hit. I'm sure they had some idea that this hurricane would be destructive and that they wouldn't have enough crew and resources to fix the devastation.

They're our only electric company here as far as I know, so I am disappointed in how the company has handled this natural disaster. It's absolutely mind blowing how under prepared the company was even though we all knew the hurricane was coming. That being said, many people, including myself, underestimated how serious this hurricane was going to be. But, somehow I just don't think that's a good enough excuse for our one electric company that runs the whole island to use. They underestimated and didn't properly prepare for Fiona, and this is something the public won't easily forgive and forget.

The worst part about this situation is, I don't think the company will improve, even after this massive error. Why would they want to fix their issues when no one will hold them accountable for what has happened?

Again, I want to thank the crew that are hard at work trying to fix everything. Let's be kind to those who are out there working, they're not responsible for how the company handled the situation, they're just trying to their best with the resources they have.

Many Islanders are barely making ends meet and electricity bills keep going up (3 or 4 in a year). The government rebate is a joke and doesn't even cover the hst. Meanwhile, Maritime Electric profits approximately 250 million a year. SMH.

I want to thank the men who got our power power back on in Park Corner. Especially the man who had to climb the pole down near Cousin Shore beach. They had to walk in without the truck to assist them and then climb up a pole. Not an easy job with the winds on the North Shore! Thank you!

Do you want power? Well they're the only choice you have for most of pei. Expect constant power outages every winter, and hurricanes? Oh boy just terrible.
Infrastructure is a joke, tree clearing almost non existent, hurricane did a better job.
Hoping the government someday removes them and we can improve the infrastructure and pricing with them gone.
