Very easy to use this service .good municipal service and friendly staff .I appreciated the blond lady with her help on how to use the service and friendly answers to my question’s . Clean inside the building and no debris on the roads. My only negative is the hours which it closes at 6 pm and with maple ridge not offering municipal garbage pick up this is the only place to go in town. A positive is it is open 7 days a week.

Dump your local garbage. With no muni trash pick up in Maple ridge; it's either private pick up; or the transfer station. Hours are really good (includes some evenings and weekends) - it's often fairly busy; but congestion moves through fairly quickly. There is a minimum charge per trip - so not practical for light loads.

If you want to know why illegal dumping happens, try to be a law abiding and environmentally conscious citizen and spend significant time waiting in line to go in and again to go out at this place. Make it faster and easier and using a remote ditch as your person landfill to save time, money, and fuel won't be as attractive. The actual transfer point happens inside a large building so you don't have to unload in unpleasant weather.

Quick Guide on the Transfer Station:

*When you come here on the weekend, expect to wait in line. Most people in Maple Ridge have the same work schedule as you, so they all come on Saturday or Sunday.

*There are special procedures for dumping Drywall. Check the procedures and do it properly so you don't have to be turned away.

*When loading your garbage, sort it so you don't have to spend an hour unloading, reloading, and unloading again and bouncing between different locations with all your different things.

*Go to the recycling depot. They take so many things that don't need to go into the landfill. And you'll save money on your garbage if you have less of it!

They close early every Thursday and Friday. If they don’t wanna stay open until 5pm , the least they could do is re-adjust their hours online or on their phone system

Hot and stinky but other then that they expect garbage in and out quickly
