Unfortunately the last two times haven’t been great.
They offer a “Drop and Go” service and this is perfect for me as I have small children so I don’t need to bring in a baby in a car seat, my 4 year old and a bunch of bags of bottles. I can just drop the bags in the back and then hop back in my vehicle and go.
The last two times I do this, the staff is always asking me to go upfront because it’s not busy. I explain why I can’t do it and they hesitantly accept the bottles. So they proceed to take 5 days to send me the money for my bottles because I used a service they offer. It’s crazy how a business will “punish” their customers with this behaviour. Perhaps they don’t want any customers.
I used to have a great experience here, quick e-transfers and never was told to go upfront when using the Drop & Go.
In response to the bottle dept reply= I appreciate your response but if you aren’t busy both times I came by and was asked to go upfront then it doesn’t make much sense why it takes 5 days to receive the money, let’s be honest. As I said, previous times it was great but these last 2 times just seems like staff doesn’t want me to use Drop & Go. I understand if I misread the situation the first time but it happened again.

Had no issues with this business under the previous management. Under the new management I have been ripped off every visit. Always bring in 3 full bags of bottles. Under the old management payout was consistently above $30. Now it’s just above $20 under the new management.

If you see who is now the running the place, you won’t be surprised. Going to try the Calmar bottle depot.

New owners horrible. I pre count my business liquor ahead, and already ripped my off 5 bottle. If they do that to every person 50 cents here n there adds up. Will never go back they are RIP off artist. Old owners were far better

Staff were friendly and as quick as they could be. That being said, I feel extremely bad for the people counting bottles on the janky plastic kiddie pools at the front. Seems like the absolute least efficient workflow. A small investment in counting stations would surely make them more productive and efficient.

The way they do recycling here in Alberta seems so much more efficient and customer oriented. The method of breaking down which recyclables are which and how they show up on an actual receipt is really cool to see.
Not sure if this is strictly what Leduc Bottle Depot does or if it’s in every depot in Alberta, but this was super reassuring and just overall a great experience. Ever since we moved to Alberta, I’ve been going to LBD and they have yet to disappoint. Even when they’re busy, it’s still a pretty quick system and operation.

Absolute rip off artists.. took in 11 bags, had a semi pre count done ahead of time... I know there was min 20$ in glass bottles alone (1.5 of the 11 bags).. somehow only counted out to 50$?
Scam artists for sure

Terrible to get into the building through the main front entrance, especially if you are using a cart. There is a significant difference in the height of the concrete right in front of the door, that you must ram your cart over while trying to hold the single door open. Once inside there has always been a long wait for service. Seems like whoever owns this place has no interest in making improvements as basic as upgrading ease of entry for customers. The only reason I gave this place a 2 star rating is because the staff work hard counting the containers. I’ve now been here twice and will not be returning. I don’t feel this business deserves my patronage.
