Basically the City of Kitchener water rental heater program is garbage. My water heater broke last night and was leaking all over my laminate floor which would ruin it. They would not send anyone out to look at it as it was after 9pm and did not consider it an emergency. Luckily we had the water heater instruction manual and were able to drain it in the nearby shower averting disaster - we had to figure that out ourselves as the after hours help service was USELESS. Next day, can't get anyone here until between 12-4pm. They won't replace the heater because it is under 10 years old. Send an outsource guy to look at it and confirms, yep it needs to be replaced. So now, we have to wait another day with no hot water to get service from Kitchener to get the water heater replaced. They suck. Their rental water heaters are garbage and their service is designed to inconvenience you at your expense. I would not recommend this service at all.

Our pipe to the water meter in the basement started leaking this morning. Called Kitchener Utilities and they sent out a tech, at our house within 30 minutes. He fixed the issue quickly, was super friendly, and made sure everything was working properly before he left. No charge. Much appreciated!

1. Absolutely great at customer service and maintenance service.
2. Pricing for the water is comparatively higher even compared to region of waterloo
3. The new website interface is much poorer than the previous one. I would choose the older version any day. that 1 start reduction is purely for the newer website.

Last night around 5 PM, I found some water leaked on the floor next to my hot water tank. After my call, around 7 PM the city technician came in and checked the tank. He said it was a contained leak. He helped me to shut off system said that I needed the tank replacement. At 8:43 PM a lady told me that the tank installation would be in the morning. Aire One Guelph installers came in and did a nice job this morning. Thank you very much Kitchener Utilities operator and technician for making swift and effective problem solving.

Intolerable employees. After answering the door I was spoken to as if he had much better things to do. He wasn't even at the right door. He was supposed to go to the side door because what he had to do was in the basement. Where my neighbor lives. When I told him I had to make sure he was up, the man replied that he could "care less" if he was up or even dressed. Zero concept of privacy or consent. After being disrespectful, he finally left. Gross behavior, especially raising his voice. How unprofessional.

I had a best experience with Kitchener utilities, I called them as the hot water rental stopped working and they replaced the heater in the same day with in couple of hours, it was neatly organized by them and contractor was nice and fixed everything in a zippy. Great customer experience in my situation. I know there were bad experiences reported by others but in my case it was different, I want to appreciate and encourage them to continue the same service for every other customer. Thank you.

I called Kitchener Utilities to tell them that it was possible that when a new hot water heater was installed by them that maybe the water softener was knocked or hit by accident. It is a very tight space and the water heater is quite large. The water softener is literally a foot away from the heater. Kitchener Utilities could have been helpful and sent a contractor but instead the admin person was argumentative and not helpful at all. Training is required to help this person with customer etiquette.

City of Kitchener was unable to get a proper water meter reading due to their equipment not working properly, equipment wasn’t working for 6 months and my bill was estimated. After the six months of their equipment not working properly they were able to get a proper reading and I was back charged for the 6 months that I under paid and was expected to pay it all on one bill. I tried calling the city to set a payment plan, at first the clerk didn’t want to help me. Said they were going to have someone call me back, and two weeks later I was sent a service shut off notice. I had to pay the full amount or my gas and water services were going to be shut off, in MARCH with a pregnant wife because of this outrageous scenario. The bill went from 150 a month to over 700 and was expected to pay it in the three week time with no exceptions. The sole purpose of why I moved out of Kitchener
