The technicians coming to do the evaluation were great. Professional and quick and easy to deal with. Still think the company is taking advantage of the government grant process and charging too much for the services rendered - the $600 grant should cover the 2 house calls (total of 1.5 hours for both) and 2 report write-ups. They did discount my second evaluation when I complained about the cash grab.

We are very pleased with the Energuide Pre-Retrofit and Post-Retrofit Renovation Upgrade Assessments and Reports for the Canada Greener Homes Grant conducted and prepared by HomeStep.

We were able to easily setup an October 2023 appointment for the pre-retrofit assessment, their staff efficiently performed the assessment, and we received the report two weeks later.

The report was very thorough and informative and enabled us to select the two most impactful retrofits (heat pump system to replace the gas furnace, and insulation top-ups).

Their information also provided a good guide for the steps ahead for us, particularly properly navigating the Canada Greener Homes Grant and its online portal.

In March 2024, we had the two retrofits completed and then arranged a post-retrofit assessment in April, which again was efficiently conducted and the report provided just over three weeks later.

We appreciate the responses provided by General Manager Flynn Dixon Murdock to our questions and to the quality of the information in the reports.

We highly recommend HomeStep to others who are planning to go through similar grant programs or just desiring to improve the energy efficiency of their home based on data.

We had this company come to our home in Langley. The work they did was fine but EACH time after the evaluation was done we had to bug them to upload the report so we could apply for the government rebates. I would've expected that step to be part of the process on THEIR end. It was annoying having to chase after them BOTH times, in one case it was months later.
