We just had Adam and his guys from Grid install a solar system out at our place. He was great to work with, being right there and helping us walk through the process right from the initial conversations, the issues with Hydro and the RM, the greener home loan and other incentives, and generally doing everything he could reasonably do to get the project to run as smoothly as possible.

I really appreciated the honest and straightforward way that he presented himself through-out the whole project. When we were setting up this project we were trying to decide between Grid and a different installer. The price that Grid gave was slightly more, but that was after both companies had applied the grants and programs. After some back and forth, it turned out that the other company was including a grant that we could no longer apply for. Their comment was that “yes, it’s closed now and I assure you that they will re-open for applications in a few months”. Adam told me that he won’t include that grant in the estimate, as he knew the applications for that grant were closed and as far as he could tell they weren’t going to re-open it. Well, come a few months later (even as of writing this review) that program still hasn’t opened up for new applicants.

Additionally, after comparing the quotes, Grid’s price was “out the door”, everything included. The other guys still had to add the taxes and didn’t include the monitoring software/service piece.

At the end of the project, although there were a few extra costs incurred to Grid due a unique way that hydro and the RM setup our place, they still honoured the original budget.

Comparing February from last year to this year, the hydro bill is ¾ what it was, but as the days are now getting longer we are seeing more and more savings.

Adam and his crew were responsive and pleasant to deal with and I would highly recommend them.

😡😡 I am extremely disappointed with Grid Energy Solar. The installation process was a nightmare – they missed multiple deadlines and provided no updates along the way. After finally completing the installation, I encountered several issues with the system's performance. Despite multiple calls and emails, their customer service was unresponsive and ineffective. I ended up paying for a system that doesn’t work as promised. I would never recommend them to anyone looking for reliable solar services.

Adam and Assistant came to our cottage on Ptarmigan Bay, Lake Of The Woods.
He installed 4 New Panels and this added enough power to run our new 18 Cubic Foot, "energy effiecent" regular fridge. (We bought the fridge from Costco, for under $800.00) This system runs parallel to our old system, giving some redundancy.

Adam suggested two extra panels, above what we "needed" for the fridge. We are happy we took his advice. ("Two extra panels didn't add much to the overall cost as he was out to install and the Charge controller etc were matched to handle the extra panels.)

It was installed on June 21st. and has worked flawlessly since then.

I had some problems with my Charger/ Inverter, prieviously. Adam came out and remidyed the problem quickly.

The recent additions of the panels was the 3rd time we have had Adam out to the Island. He has always been "true to his word". He has corrected small flaws, in out system, as "Value Added". He has given good advise. As others said he is honest.

He is a Red Seal Journeyman Electrician AND has 7 years Solar Experience!
We have two Journeyman Electrician friends. They don't have Solar Experience.
Therefore Adam corrected small flaws that they didn't see.
