I'm part of a team that sponsors refugees. One of our recent refugees has been going to EPC. I am very impressed with the quality of service and expertise of all the staff. They are friendly, kind, professional and extremely helpful. Lana Wierdsma does an incredible with job development. My friend's confidence and job readiness and skill level is increasing ove the last few months through a job placement, job club sessions and the ongoing encouraging and support from Lana.
I so appreciate this valuable service in our town that welcomes and supports newcomers.

I recently moved to Peterborough, ON. I had zero success applying on my own for almost two years, when I had to leave the last company as they went out of business. I mean 0 interviews of any kind. I also had many gaps in my resume and lacked the confidence to talk about what I could offer.

I spent about a month working with Conrad (about 1 meeting a week), re-working my resume and discussing how best to format and present myself via resume and interview. Conrad was patient and kind at every step, and wanted to understand my point of view completely, so as he could provide the best fit assistance for me. I was able to have brutally honest conversations with him about frustrations and things that had happened in unemployment and hiring processes that you could never tell a recruiter. Then he helped me redefine it all so that I knew what I could say about my experience and how to say it so that I was not shooting myself in the foot.

The first job I applied too, after meeting with Conrad and getting his feedback, resulted in 1st and 2nd interviews and an offer. Granted this is not going to be the case for everyone, BUT, for me this was not the real value of working with Conrad.

The real value was the way he was able to reignite a drive inside of me to help me keep going. Also, he was able to extinguish the imposter syndrome that I was not good enough, or that somehow I was defined by the text on my resume.

For all of this I will be forever be grateful to Conrad and EPC (Employment Planning & Counselling - Peterborough). From the first call with the staff office member to the last meeting with Conrad, I was met with sincere and genuine respect. Thank you for everything EPC!

I was introduced to my career counsellor Zeljko, who right from the beginning did everything within his power to support me in my goals and ambitions. Through the early stages of enrolling in school, right through to the nerve wracking process of applying for jobs, he was there to offer support, advice and valuable suggestions.

I can happily state that I am currently employed at a job that challenges me everyday and has room for me to grow and further develop my skillset.
