In 3 years of living in Cumberland, our solid waste fees have went from $23 per quarter to $43 per quarter. And yet collections are missed all the time for residents. Services we pay top dollar for, that we aren’t getting. Last week my organics wasn’t collected, the entire side of the street I’m assuming. Now my compost bin is full to the brim and I woke up to maggots all over the floor of my garage coming from the compost. I’m telling you if it doesn’t get picked up today, I’m bringing it to Emterras office!

Garbage roadside pickup - I live in an area with many elderly residents, I contacted EE to ask if their bin men could put the lids back on the bins after emptying, as many of the lids blow down the road and into ditches, from which the elderly residents cannot retrieve them. I was told "no they can't, that would make their day too long" So much for customer service.

There is a repeating theme in regularly missing weekly collections. Granted they respond quickly when called to follow up - but there have been many calls recently. When there is limited service competition - there need to be performance penalties imposed to ensure taxpayers receive the service level paid for. Clean up your act!

Particularly happy with the yard waste service in Comox as they go above and beyond. Once I was cutting a shrub and had to stop before fully bagging the leaves and branches, it happened to be collection day. They came on to the lawn and collected the loose materials for me! Doesn’t get much better than that. Cheers to the hard working staff at Emterra.

Once again no recycle pickup on Fri 17 Jun. Last recycle day it was the opposite side of Street. As now it is Sat there is no way to contact Emterra to see exactly when it will be picked up. Such a common occurrence. Now street is lined with recycle bins most likely for weekend. Very unprofessional.

Once again it is now 6:45PM and my recycle has not been picked up again I am disabled and I walk with two crutches so I am unable to move the blue boxes etc back from the curb to inside the garage, My neighbour who moves all my garbage and recycle out to the curb for me is now out of town. So it will have to sit there overnight until someone remembers 2407 Inverclyde Way in Courtenay - which they HAVE driven by but not picked up from. And they just drove right by it AGAIN. and again ... going the other way. and now they are driving away from Inverclyde Way along St Andrews which butts into our driveway. -- and they just drove by again -- going yet another way - and how am I to get the blue boxes back from the curb even if they do eventually empty them It is now 7:15pm. No wonder they are so late when they drive by the same place 5 or more times without picking anything up, I need to eat some dinner ---I GIVE UP.

I have never encountered a more awful human being than the yards boss of this company. Employees are over worked and under paid, and verbally abused daily.

They pick up my garbage cans and just leave them on the road and traffic knock them over. Is it too much to ask for them to put them back on the curb.
