Great staff their. BUT once again the city of Orillia, makes a dumb decision by closing it on Mondays. Not everyone has Saturday / Sunday off. I bet they are losing more money than they are saving.

The fellow working at the booth on June 7, 2024 @11:30 AM was extremely rude, condescending and combative and looked like he was taking absolute pleasure in doing it. Guys like that ruin tourism in Orillia.

I arrived to get rid of two large cardboard furnature boxed filled with styrofoam. The truck had just left with the styrofoam recycle bin. I was willing to wait for its return but a staff member came out and volunteered to sort through everything to minimize my delay.
Now that is service above and beyond! Great staff member.

Friendly staff greet you and are always willing to help.
There are several areas there in which things can be sorted for re-use, re-purpose, re-cycling, and for safe disposal.
The Dangerous Recycling Depot takes your used paint, pharmaceuticals, batteries and other items for their safe disposal. I feel good that some of the items get a second chance and are put aside for the taking.
I enjoy and appreciate the articles in the re-use building, surplus paint and other useful items such as pails that are free for re-purposing and to use up.

Well maintained and organized, less fear of tire damage due to shrapnel and debris than most waste sites. Minimum tipping fee of $20 is very high.

Great staff. Love that I can drop my recycling in one of the dumpsters without having to wait until pickup day.
