Chris, Derek and the team with Cascade were so wonderful to work with during the difficulty of realizing we may have a mold issue in our home. Great company. Everyone there has been professional, and thorough. After a flood in our house, we shopped around for a company which will provide us with a timely, affordable, and thorough assessment whether mould was present in our property. Cascade was very affordable, and they were very methodical in following Alberta Environmental Public Health Measures which was important to us. We wanted to have peace of mind if we renovate that we our renovations are long-lasting. Be ware of contractors or companies who will do a visual inspection only. You need to ask for an assessment report with the assessors signing off on it. Cascade provided us with a detailed assessment. After mould was addressed, they went back again and did a PRV (post-remediation verification) and they did provide us with well written recommendations when the property was ready for renovation. If there is still mould present, they will keep going back after each treatment until your property is cleared. They will provide you with a signed certificate that your property meets Alberta's standards before starting renovations. It can be overwhelming trying to find a certified and trust-worthy environmental company which will come to your house and provide you with a report that is evidence-based. I found their team to be friendly, knowledgeable, and fair. Cascade won't do the mould management/abatement themselves. They only inspect your property for mould and provide you with their recommendations. You can find your own mould management company which will come and clean all of the property from mould. Cascade will continue to re-inspect after the mould abatement company has conducted its work. They are not shy to say the mould abatement did not meet their standards. For mould management, I retained JK Environmental Services to carry out the mould management/abatement task. They were awesome to deal with too. Overall, I strongly recommend both companies to anyone who wishes to assess the presence of mould in their property.
