I want to say a Big thank you to Joseph Necessary of Capital Mechanical. Shortly after I moved to my new home, my shower was leaking after turning my faucet. I called Capital Mechanical and spoke to Wayne. He sent Joseph right away to fix it as quickly as possible. Due to the dripping sound, I haven't been able to sleep in my bedroom for about a week. I was also worried about my water bill. Joseph came in this morning. He was respectful, polite, and nice, and he listened to all the concerns I had. He not only fixed the leak, but he also increased my water temperature, which I requested, and quickly placed a valve under one of my sinks that was accidentally overlooked. To top it all off, I needed some info about getting a water softener. Joseph graciously directed me to the expert for that. I truly appreciated your excellent service today, Joseph. Again, thank you and Capital Mechanical for resolving all my issues. God bless you 🙂

I had the pleasure of working with Steven a few weeks ago to get my water tank flushed. He is very patient, knowledgeable and well prepared to answer questions. This was my first time performing this process, he ensured that he explained in detail what he was doing and why it was important. He informed me the process would take a couple hours because his job was to check every pipe and faucet to ensure it was working properly before he flushed the tank. I felt peace of mind because I had someone review the pipes to confirm I had no leaks, and everything was working as it should. I have recommended them to my family, friends, and neighbors. Job well done.

Jose came out to diagnose an issue that I was convinced was related to plumbing (water seeping through ceiling). He discussed all of the options with me which involved cutting into drywall (with my encouragement and approval) and sure enough, it was an HVAC issue. Jose handled my questions and concerns with grace and humor and did not make me feel silly (this is not always guaranteed when dealing with contractors--you don't know what you don't know and some folks take advantage of that). Caveats--while all the trades folks that I have worked with from CapMec have been awesome, it is important to know that you will be charged for any diagnostic visit to your home, no matter how big or small the job. They tell you this over the phone so it's not a surprise. Also, I initially had difficulty getting an appointment within what I considered a reasonable window for wet/leaking drywall and felt as if the CSR in charge of triage wasn't that experienced and/or just didn't take me or my anxiety seriously. I was initially furious about not being able to get an appointment within 24 hours but to her credit she called back a couple of times and I was able to get a satisfactory resolution to the problem. Issue resolved quickly and with professionalism with assistance from Jose and Wayne.

Be careful using this company. Had my heating elements and thermostat replaced 2 days after moving into a brand new house because the water heater was on with no water and burned up the elements. For 2.5 yrs had no issues until started losing hot water. Requested a water flush and maintenance and was told lower heating element was going bad. I didn't want to replace at that time because I felt like the builder, Beazer, should address and while waiting to hear from Beazer had no hot water and smelled electrical smell. Found my thermostat all burnt up and screw was loose around wiring. Find it very interesting I went from losing hot water after 15min to no hot water. Cap Mechanical refuses to be accountable and offered a discount of half off. When I asked if they would be willing to take an additional $40 off, they declined. So be careful, that's all I'm gonna say. Also, after water flush, tech forgot to reset breaker so I waited for 2 hrs for water heater to get hot and never did since breaker was off.

I had discussed water treatment with several different companies; Wayne was extremely knowledgeable, and informative. He wanted to make sure that our issues were solved, and we understood the reason for each part of the system. Unlike others who offered some general catch-all that didn't target our actual issue nor did they explain why they were suggesting specific systems. Geoff, our technician, installed the system and was very courteous and professional. He made sure to do the job right and was very thorough.

Avoid Capital Mechanical at all cost.

At the end of May, our water heater started leaking. Ok, no problem. We call the number for the warranty and here enters Capital Mechanical.

May 20th - Brenda sends us an email and dispatches Zach to our house. Zach comes out, goes downstairs, glances at the unit, and is confident that it’s just the nipple at the top. Easy fix. But - “this visit will be 100 dollars”.

Me - “100 dollars? For what? You glanced at it”

Zach - “we don’t have that part on the truck, so if we don’t have that part, we charge 100 for the visit”

Me - “isn’t this your job? Knowing these unit types and having the parts ready to go? Who shows up to a job not ready to do anything? Fine. Whatever. Here is 100 dollars”.

Zach- “thanks. We will be in touch”

Zach came back end of May, fixed the nipple and came upstairs to let us know he broke a different piece, the leaking continues now worse, and he will have to return with a different part.

Enter Marisol

Marisol - “hi. Our next appointment is for June 17th”.

Me - “three weeks!? What am I supposed to do with water all over my basement for three weeks!?”, I screech.

Marisol - “not our problem. This is how long it takes to order the part”

Three weeks roll by - June 17th. Water all over. Leaking unit, soggy basement, I wake up on June 17th and eagerly wait for Zach.

He doesn’t show up.

I call Marisol - “oh ya. Haven’t seen the part yet. Oh well”

Me - “oh well!? My basement is soaked. It’s been three weeks!? Surely this is a joke”

Marisol - sends me an email three hours later. “I double checked and the part is here.”

Me - double checked. Uh huh sure.

Marisol - “we can be there June 21”

Me - “WHAT!?”

Fine - June 21 rolls around.

Marisol via Brenda. “Ya. Zach isn’t going to make it out today, we can fit you in the middle of July. Does that work for you?”

Me - in a dead faint. Dropped by the shock at how disgusting, deplorable, and down right shady Capital Mechanical is. It takes almost two months to fix a pipe? There are no words for how terrible Capital Mechanical is, and all their employees. I took three half vacation days from work to make these appointments.

I deplore anyone who is thinking of using their services. Go elsewhere or be prepared for a month long saga with them.

Problem is still not fixed by the way and I also filed with the BBB.

I had the extreme pleasure of working with Jacob Ratliff and I was thoroughly pleased with his professionalism and knowledge. Jacob arrived a few minutes early, and unfortunately, I was in a meeting, he patiently waited for me to complete my meeting, so he could assist me with reviewing my plumbing concerns.

He greeted me even though I made him wait for a few minutes with a smile and listened to my concerns and followed up by investigating to ensure that I was not having any plumbing issues. Jacob's Impeccable service included rechecking all the faucets to make sure that everything was working as it should. He shared his knowledge with me about plumbing and how it works, and what I need to look for in case there might be an issue.

Jacob was so professional and thorough that I’ve requested to have him as my permanent technician. It’s very rare to find people who care about the work they do and treat other peoples home as if it were their own. I look forward to working with him for many years to come.
