When I signed up with Bow Valley Power I lived on a farm and had a house, a three car garage and a barn tack room to heat. As soon as I signed up my bills reduced substantially. Now I’ve moved into town and still my bills have remained lower than with other companies.
When you need customer service they are always there, no computer answering the phone but a real person to talk to. It’s amazing and very appreciated.

I have been a customer with bow valley power since 2017 when I moved here from England, I was referred to them by a friend of the owners. I have always been taken a back by the level of care and customer service they provide. It’s unbeatable in my opinion.

Any time I have had an issue I’ve been put straight through to an actual human within minutes. Nowadays that kind of service is hard to come by.

The service was fine until I wanted to cancel it. I called to find out what is required to cancel my service, I was not informed they needed 10 days notice, 4 days later I called to cancel my service, I was instructed over the phone as I wrote an email stating “ Please de energize my power as there is no longer a home here. “ 6 days later they apologized for a late response, they wanted to confirm I wanted to de energize my account and as of what date?
and that they needed 10 days notice. I replied with asap, the breaker at the pole is shut off. Another 6 days they responded with we need 10 days notice to cancel your account and they had sent a request in. I had a prudential of $100, my bill came in with a $6 credit, this was on a new billing cycle, with only one day of usage .49 cents worth of power and the rest was delivery charges. $94 total. I called and talked with the customer care manager Joanne. She then emailed me that the best they could do was charge me for 5 days of service, rather than 19 and offered a $25 credit. $25 didn’t come close to her calculation of being charged for 5 days. She would not answer my emails or calls after that. They had my $100 prudential. I was credited $31, and there was nothing I could do about it. We already pay to high of delivery charges in Alberta, there is no customer anymore, we are at there mercy.

I’m very happy with choosing Bow Valley Power. It was easy to get the automatic withdrawal set up and being able to do everything online is very convenient. The rates for electricity are competitive as well. I also got internet through Q-Wave and it’s quite a bit cheaper than other retailers, I have had steady internet with no issues.
