Absolutely aweful service. Impossible top speak to a real person and the the computerized run a round sucks. Less than a 1 star but I guess that is the lowest I can do.

I recently had a service upgrade at my house that was not announced to my electrician until noon the day they were completing the work. He only received an email and no verbal contact or anything in the email to attend on site. This led us to believe that they were only upgrading their side of the grid and going to contact us for a further date to complete the meter transfer. Upon a horrible surprise when I got home from work at 6pm there was still no power to the house. I contacted my electrician and told him the case. He immediately told me to check and see if my old meter was still running on the side of my house. I found it missing and the new meter hooked up. This meant that there was power going into my house not hooked up to anything, as there was no room to rough in the new 200 amp breaker panel my electrician had only ran the wires. This was suppose to be swapped when bc hydro booked a date with my electrician to complete the 200 amp upgrade of a service and panel swap. With this resulted in an open 200amp wire in my basement, which luckily injured no one. I’m am very unimpressed and am waiting to hear from someone regarding this issue to make sure it never happens again. No one on site cared to call and make sure everything in the house was completed or even a knock on the door to talk to my wife who was home with our 3 week old daughter and check that the panel inside the house was set up. This could have resulted in a fire, electrical explosion, or death. I hope they do not sweep this incident under the rug as it is a very serious issue. My electrician was amazing with the situation. He immediately called a linesman that he knew that was not on shift that day, to come down and disconnect the power to the house as soon as possible. My electrician was at my house completing a panel swap until 10:30 that night. I will any day recommend him to anyone in the cranbrook area looking for electrical work. As for bc hydro and any sub contractors that were there that day they should review their procedures thoroughly.

Terrible service! Disconnect your meter without notifying you! No phone call, text email or knock on the door. They don’t even drive trucks that say BC hydro !
