UPDATE:
Still NOT the only scrapyard open on the weekends.

As I originally stated, this happened about 6-7 years ago.

I DID bring in a load of bare bright copper.

I DID watch the price of MY load get deducted $2/Lb.

The price WAS changed while I was waiting for payment.

I WAS watching the screen beside the payment window where the customer was able to see the prices and weights of various metals, and grades thereof, when I WATCHED the older lady change the price from about 3.20/Lb to about 1.20/Lb.

My load was the ONLY one that was subject to this price change on that day.

I DO NOT appreciate being called a liar when stating facts from my own personal experiences, especially when the statement in which I am accused of lying contains an easily provable lie.

Once again... NOT the only scrapyard open on the weekends. Empire Metals is open Saturdays. Copper and Metal Recycling is open 7 days/week.

ORIGINAL:
NOT the only scrapyard open on the weekends.

The first or second time I went to this scrapyard, I watched them drop the price of bare bright copper by $2/Lb while I was getting paid out.
Granted, that was years ago and I have rarely wasted my time by going back to them.

This was My first visit here today to Bare metal wire recycling. I am pleased with my visit and experience. Staff were friendly and easy to talk to. The parking lot and facility was clean. Prices for scrap are very good. I didn’t realize but they give you 10% more for your scrap if you are a tradesmen. I had my journeyman card handy and got it. That’s the kind of thing that will make me a return customer. I highly recommend them for your scrap recycle needs.

I have been going to bare wire in the south east for about a year. Great experience every time. Until my last visit. I brought in number one copper and they said it was number 2 because it was dirty. The copper pipe was oxidized as is most copper pipe that was used in cold domestic water system. Never had any issues with my “dirty copper” before. I have been going here for the convenience but If the inconsistency persists I will take my scraps to the many other recycling facilities in the city

Update: Since this visit I have had zero issues. bare wire has been great over the last few years. I highly recommend using bare wire for all your recycling needs!!

Not a good place to go if you only have one or two car batteries as they will rip you off on the price per pound. Not only that, when paying you out they ROUND DOWN to the nearest dollar just to kick you in the pants on the way out.
