When I joined Avant I knew little to nothing about the behind the scenes work of music. The step by step system they have in place here is an excellent way to slowly pace yourself into this industry. They cover all of the basic necessities to audio engineering including mixing, mastering, live production and even small side labs to test and sharpen your skills. The instructors and staff are incredibly helpful and nice and will do anything to make sure you succeed. I definitely recommend this school for beginners and veterans of the craft

I came in as a student who had always been curious and interested in learning audio engineering but my knowledge was little to none. I really like the culture and the environment of the school. Every semester is tailored to a different aspect of the what you need to learn to be successful if this is the path you’re choosing to take. The instructors really impressed me with their knowledge and their ability to break down complex concepts in a way that’s understandable. I really liked being around the other students because everyone comes from a different background and are at a different point in their journey. If you’re considering making that move to take the next step in your career and get serious about your craft, don’t hesitate to give Avant a chance.

As a graduate of Avant Media Institute, I can say without doubt that I absolutely made the right decision by attending this school. I loved the small classroom setting. It felt like a family due to the small class size. The instructors were extremely hands on, and you get the one-on-one attention that you miss on a traditionally large campus. The administration wants you to not only do well in every class, but they do all that they can to help you graduate and be successful. You are able to record at the school, and you will learn on and off campus from the instructors who are currently in the business. I would recommend this school to anyone that wants a great education that will help them create a reality from their dreams.

I would recommend this school if you want hands-on learning and multiple opportunities to learn and network. Avant Media Institute has well educated professors who are experienced with and involved in the music industry. You learn from the fundamentals and science of sound to mixing/mastering, music theory, music business, and live sound all within 1 year. The school provides a lot of off-site visits to professional recording studios in Houston, as well as opportunities for a career in the industry. All of the teachers are talented and the staff and facility for the school are amazing. I enjoyed this experience and gained the best education on the music industry overall!

If you are looking to improve your skills in audio engineering and live sound reinforcement. This is the place to be they will take you from mediocre to a professional in no time. I came in knowing a little audio and left out a confident professional. The classes are small so the instructors can spend more time with you. Learning music production can be difficult but, the staff at Avant Media Institute made it effortless. The knowledge base of the staff is immense and the instructor are easy to understand, work, and learn from. As a disabled veteran using vocational rehabilitation program it was easy for VA to handle the program. No matter a persons skill level the instructor make learning something new fun.
