We recently engaged Arbutus Tree Services to provide an arborist report on damage to our Laurel bushes. While initially quoted a base price of $500, the company failed to provide a firm quote or clarify the possibility of additional charges, despite our repeated requests for transparency during inspections.
Without prior communication or explanation, the final bill unexpectedly escalated to $1,338.75, significantly exceeding the initial estimate. Additionally, the report took an excessive amount of time to produce, causing further inconvenience.
Given the delays, we had to engage another company, Browning Arborist Consulting, to complete the report. Remarkably, Chase Browning delivered a comprehensive and professional report for $367.50 within just three days.
Recommendation: Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Arbutus Tree Services due to their lack of clarity, communication, and efficiency. For prompt and cost-effective arborist services, we highly recommend Browning Arborist Consulting.

Corey, Cliff and Wade did a great job on my Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar yesterday and I am so pleased . They were quick, professional, courteous and informative. They talked with me about what was planned and especially what was important to me.

I have had Arbutus Tree Service take care of my trees for years and all the crews that came were the same, knowledgeable, amenable and a delight to deal with.

I thank you Norm, your knowledge and assistance in deciding what would be best for my trees has been beneficial to my Fir and Cedar which have given me much pleasure over the years.

Norm from Arbutus tree is very professional and always respond promptly. The team who worked on the backyard was very efficient and professional as well. They confirmed about everything thoroughly before starting any work. They were very polite and did not bother us for anything, cleaned up everything before they left. They also left us a pile of firewood cut to the size that we asked for free of charge. The invoice was sent a day after the service with the correct amount. We were very satisfied with the works done by Arbutus Tree.

After a consultation, we booked an appointment to have our large tree trimmed to allow more light onto our deck. Our appointment was for noon so we rushed around in the morning to have all our errands finished well before then. Imagine our surprise when we returned home to find a voice mail saying that they decided not to comeL they had gone home early since they wanted to get a head start on the long weekend! I guess they enjoyed their weekend more than we did.
I would have cancelled altogether but didn't want the hassle of finding another company. We have no misgivings about the work they did (when they finally came, 4 days later) but, do note, they are not reliable.
