We have been disappointed in the services of Annapolis Valley Air Management.

Specifically: After a installing a costly heat pump system the firm needed two call backs to program the thermostat before it would function properly; an ice build up in the unit during its first winter was a consequence of it being installed without a heater, which had been omitted from the original purchase quote; a 30-year old outdoor breaker had to be replaced two years after the system install, which should by rights have been flagged as advisable to replace when the system was put in and saved us time, frustration, and cost; and we had an unpaid invoice on our file for 17 months, of which we were unaware.

Based on our experience we wouldn’t recommend this firm.

Worst HVAC company in the valley. If you plan on getting your heat pump repaired don’t use these guys, they will nickel and dime every visit without ever fixing the issue, we are 4 visits in and $1400 with a heat pump that still doesn’t work because their technicians misdiagnose the problem. Will be using another company with properly trained techs to fix our issue

Annapolis Valley Air Management was recommended to me for my heat pump install. Don, the owner, took ample time over the phone to explain what all was involved and answer my questions. He then came out to my home and provided an extremely reasonable quote. As I have a bit too much on my plate right now I've decided not to have a heat pump installed at the moment but when I get back to this project I will undoubtedly go with this company. Prior to contacting Annapolis Valley Air Management I contacted two other refrigeration companies, one which was dishonest and over quoted and another which was unprofessional and I never heard back from. Honestly, if you want an easy and affordable process, don't waste your time, contact Don.

Follow up: I ended up getting the heat pump installed a few months after I wrote this post and they did a fantastic job. A friend got one installed by another company at the same time and was charged the same price I paid…however his unit was smaller (installation work required was very comparable).

I recently had a ducted heat pump system installed by AVAM and they did excellent work. They gave useful advice before the work started and Brian and Adrian did an excellent job making the system as unobtrusive as possible. The project came in under estimate, even after unexpected changes. Looking forward to having them back to service things every year.

They called me a few days after scheduling the work to be done and said they had finished another job early and fit me in a few day later. The crew was friendly, professional, and left the place cleaner than when they had arrived. Additionally, Deenie helped ensure that all my rebate applications were filled out correctly, which I appreciated. Highly recommend!

I called in the summer to diagnose a non-cooling heat pump. Reception was helpful and accommodating. Pricing was up front and transparent for the most part. I knew the minimum labour charge would be for 1 hour when scheduling the service call. However, I was very disappointed when the technician showed up and did 7min worth of work to tell me the compressor was leaking refrigerant. They told me they needed to come back to find the leak. Zero attempt was made to further investigate the source of the leak. I ended up paying $220+for someone to tell me there was no refrigerant in the compressor which I had already suspected. I subsequently found another company in the region who was much more transparent and up front with service expectations. Not planning on using AVAM again.

Our second floor desperately needed a heat pump to manage the humidity (and for our overall comfort). Don made sure to do a thorough inspection and gave us a quote for what we needed (no more, no less). His knowledge was evident, and we felt confident working with him. The team who did the installation were incredibly professional and efficient, and when some emergencies resulted in a one-day delay for the electrical work, Teresa made sure to keep me in the loop. We are so happy with our Daikin heat pump and the work done by AVAM!

Lindsay was very knowledgeable and professional. He is a real asset to the company. If you need any work done he's your guy. He installed my heat pump in a timely and efficient manner. The price was very reasonable for such great service. He made sure it was done right and they even showed me the controls.
