The state of Health Care in Canada is pathetic and I hope that a government official or someone of a higher status reads this and is ashamed of themselves that they don’t invest in health care . To have a booming economy , you need to have healthy people, so why not invest ? Grand-falls needs to have a new hospital and clinics , sure you can say it you are working on it but when is there going to be any results ? People shouldn’t be stuffed in the hallways and nursing staff should be happy and not climbing over equipment to preform patient care . It’s the same thing in Alberta . Education , healthcare and public services should be #1 in priority .

Honestly ridiculous to even call this a hospital most days. The majority of the staff are angels, minus a couple particular uncaring and rude doctors, but the way this place is run is heart breaking. Absolutely zero sense if urgency unless you visibly have a limb hanging off. How many people have to die from neglect before our system gets things in order? Someone with one functioning lung who has spent two days unable to catch their breathe shouldn't have to wait 5 hours to even be acknowledged by a doctor while people who came in after them and weren't in a state of crisis get rushed in. Families should not be losing their loved ones due to a lack of available care and understanding doctors. I understand that our healthcare has a severe staffing issue, and the government support just isn't there, but when is enough going to be enough? This all HAS to be discouraging for the dedicated staff who do care, and is certainly discouraging for patients...so when is the system going to do better?

I wish I could give it no stars to be honest, I’m writing this review 5.5 hours into my wait in the emergency room, everyone who was here before me, even those in searing agony have left hopeless after hours and hours of waiting with no resolve, the emergency registration woman who initially took me in was lovely, and the woman who did my blood work was swift, gentle and delightful, but here I am 4.5 hours after this interaction, now the person who’s been waiting here the longest, in pain and am frustrated, I asked the new person at registration (who had started their shift long after I’d arrived) if they could give me a ballpark estimate of how long it may be, because I’d be willing to wait another hour or so to make this trouble worth it, he never got back to me, 30 minutes later I went back to the window and asked again and I know working in healthcare must suck but what’s worse honestly is the person at the windows attitude toward the poor sick patients who are running out of patience.
I don’t know if I’m staying another hour or if I’ll take the time to drive to gander if it will get me seen sooner.
One thing I do know is that this hospital needs to do better if it wants to still be considered a hospital by the townsfolk.
Also the chairs are uncomfortable, but at least the security guards liked my joke about sticking a fork in the outlet to get seen sooner.

Yesterday I was referred to emergency staff in Grand Falls Windsor, Dr Kamel and RN Melissa , assessed and tended to my finger injury ( crushed in a garage door)! Very unpleasant event! Accordingly I just want to acknowledge their super work ethic and care during my trauma! Thank you so much!!!!

My first time seeing Dr. Boodhun. His secretary got me in within 24hrs after receiving the referral. He took his time and after he examined me he went over my MRI and explained what it showed and why I'm having such severe pain. I think he's an amazing doctor and I appreciate everything they did for me.

As far as hospitals go this one is pretty good. Been here for 4 days. The maternity ward here has been very kind to me and my wife. Every nurse has been friendly, professional and informative. The food isnt anything to write home about but the soup is in my opinion quite nice. No complaints here.

Brought my son in, who has Cerebral Palsy, by ambulance. He was seen immediately, chest x-ray within minutes, diagnosed with pneumonia, admitted to ICU within an hour. He was in ICU for 2 weeks and his care was absolutely the best. All of the nursing staff, respiratory, and doctors were amazing.
