Fast, clean and worth the trip!
I always take my returns to the Summerland Bottle Depot, and overall, I have a great experience. It’s a local service, and while bottle depots aren’t glamorous, this one is noticeably clean and well-organized.
If you have your containers properly sorted they can process your returns incredibly fast. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes, even with a trunk full of empties! They had my refund counted and in my hand very quickly.
Bottom line: Keep your returns clean and sorted, and you’ll find this depot to be quick, friendly and essential for Summerland recycling. Keep up the great work!

This place is spacious and well-organized. There's also a sink for washing hands. The friendly owner handles things quickly, so there's not much waiting time. Of course, parking is available.

Place is clean. Doesn't smell bad. BUT ...they will rip you off...today I watched as they counted the lady before our turn bottles. 24 entered as 20..15 entered as 12 and so on about $3.00 worth...then my turn - I had all my bottles sorted and counted first group I told them 32 she counted entered 32. Next group I told her 42 she counted entered 32 ...started counting next group..I said excuse me you and I counted 42 then you punched in 32..She said what? I said it's 42. The next group was 23 I said 25 she said no 23. I said your right we all make mistakes... next group 18 she put 16 I corrected her...she said we count you don't count anything...I said no I will count too..all told by end she got me for about 3 or 4 dollars...never going there again I will drive to Penticton..

They employ dishonest, rip-off practices because they only give you 8¢ per item when they're supposed to give you 10¢. Talk about UNETHICAL! GREEDY! DON'T PATRONIZE THEIR BUSINESS! I wait until I have to go to Penticton and return my recyclables there where they pay you what you're SUPPOSED to get.
