The ladies in Burford were very kind and tried to accommodate as much as possible.
The main office however has been impossible to deal with, they’ve kept money they asked for a prepayment now for 2 weeks will not give it back to me
They sent an inspector out who…. Failed the inspection on the tanks they installed!
Then gave me 90 days to move them and served me with a non compliance order in 3 days
They will not return emails and can’t get anyone on the phone
Their service is the most horrible I have experienced from any propane company
Also contacting the bbb!!

Would have given 0 stars if it was an option. Lady sitting on reception has 0 knowledge about business and has 0 sense of speaking. I’m not able to refill my tank even though i’m on automatic deliveries. Whenever i call them they say someone is gonna call back and when i call them the next day to get an update. They say the same thing again, “ someone will call you back”.

Interesting reading the reviews - a very big mix. My recent experience has been really good. Our oil boiler broke christmas eve at 10pm. I called christmas day at 8:00am, at a contractors suggestion, and Davis/McDougall was able to get a tech here by 9:30am. Obviously there was an emergency charge - but it wasn't outrageous to the point I thought 'well I'm never calling them' and ultimately I was happy to get my furnace going (this year had that 100kph -35C brutal storm for 3 days going on). I had an issue a few days later with my online account and they were able to fix it in about 15 minutes, and today I went to order oil and when I said I was below an 1/8th of a tank the receptionist/coordinator said that was pretty low and she was going to try to move me up the delivery list to go faster than the usual 3/5 day scheduling. So I have experienced good customer service.

Fuel oil is brutally expensive this year - our costs have double from last year for a fill. It would be a dream if they could find a way to be a bit more competitive without loosing customer service quality but that is a challenge for any business. If they started slashing quality of service to get the cost down it depends what type of issues I ran into if I could stay with them.

TERRIBLE Experience. I'd give them less than 1 star if that was possible.
Stopped filling our residential tanks end of 2021. I called when we were at 50 & 40% (2 tanks). We weren't a priority. Ppl less than 10% were the priority (for reference that was in Jan 2022). They'd try to book us when they do "country properties". My question - do you do many city residential properties? I called again in Feb, Mar, Apr and May. May we were at 0% and 5%. I was told we were at 100% according to their records. They verified there was a technical issue on their end. We'd be made a priority and someone would call immediately. 24 hrs later and no call. I asked for a manager. They had all left for the day. I asked was there an after hours manager, no answer. 24 hrs later Sharon the receptionist says I can have Jamie, the managers number. I ask how there was no after hours manager the day before. She stuttered and said it is an office number. I say ok, to be clear you want me to call Jamie's office number and leave a voice msg. Sharon suddenly remembers he doesn't have voicemail. My question - is that a joke? No answer.
My reply, get your worthless tanks off my property IMMEDIATELY. This is amongst the worst customer service I have received from a provider. We're at 0% & 5%. Good thing the nice weather is coming. Unbelievable

Excellent customer service tonight! Our valve cracked and we had propane leaking. The technician was out within 2 hours and had everything fixed. We were not left without heat for the night. Cannot thank your staff enough for the great work!

Over filled my tank twice, I had to go to their store to pre pay. (Because I'm a renter) When I got home my tank was full to the top. $1000 of oil in it when I could only afford $400 worth. I called them and delt with them kindly. Also requested to pump my tank because I could not afford such a high bill. Then they told me I could pay it off at 0% interest and I could take as long as I wanted. 6 months later I got a letter from a collection agency on behalf of the unpayed funds... Thanks for the great service. Don't try and make a living off overfilling tanks so that you get your money. It's not good practice.

Horrible company to deal with. They make you promises to get your business and everything is all wine and roses. Then they try to take back those promises and charge you a ridiculous amount of money if you decide to cancel with them. Tell you that there is no contract stating how long you have to be their customer but they are going to make up things to charge you for to re-coop their money. Bad, bad business practices.

Unreliable, ever since the company was sold, it is not longer family owned! The big corporation doesn't care about the families that have been with the company for 10+ years. Automatic deliveries that don't happen when they should, leaving customers who want that service to figure it out for themselves and end up running out of fuel. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
