We arrived at our cottage on Rankin Island this past Thursday evening, and the power went out at 6:30 PM. It is now Saturday at 7:00 PM, and we have still not had our power restored. We are being told that the current estimate is Sunday night at 11:45 PM.

Most of the surrounding areas serviced by Hydro One have already had their power restored, yet we continue to be left without service. This is not the first time we’ve experienced delays specific to Rankin Island—when we opened our cottage this spring, we were unable to use it for over a month due to delays in Lexon restoring power after the ice storm. Others around us had their power back much sooner, and it is incredibly frustrating and disheartening to experience this again.

We pay the same as everyone else and expect the same level of service. This repeated delay is not only unfair, but it’s also costly—we had to spend $1,500 on a generator just for this weekend, plus ongoing fuel costs. In today’s day and age, this level of service to island properties is unacceptable.

We ask for a clear explanation and a serious commitment to
improving service reliability and response time for Rankin Island residents moving forward. We shouldn’t have to prepare for emergencies every time there’s a storm or outage.

Power outage and I’ve called on off hours and business hours and been on hold for 45 minutes with no response. It’s 2025 and they’re still having recordings from the pandemic and safe distancing.

I don’t have a lot of confidence.

I agree with all prior reviews. When there is an outage they give an estimate and it constantly changes. We have been without power now for over 24 hours. For what we pay this is inexcusable

They show we have power and we don't. On hold for over 20 minutes and no help.
They still have a covid message you listen to over and over.

Power is always out. Terrible infrastructure. No customer service. Happen when we need it most, winter, flooding, for days. Change the start time of the outage so it doesn't look as bad. I can go on but you get the gest of it!!

This company is horrible ,If we pay for a service and I do get bad weather happen but if they can't keep the hydro on ..then are they going to pay for everyone's spoiled food ? They will gladly take your money and still can't do the job they are paid to do ..

If it was possible to give no stars, we would. We were on hold for 25 minutes. At the time, we were told (on their automated reporting of outages) of outages that were over a year old. In addition, they did not know of the outage we were experiencing and we waited 15 minutes before calling hoping the power would return. We were very happy with the prompt return of power, however, your company's lack of ability to pass any knowledge onto the consumer created problems, confusion and overall are seriously lacking. By comparison, at our previous home, Hydro One can identify our phone number, tell us that they knew of the outage and have an estimated time of return of power all within 10 minutes of the outage. Serious updating of sharing of information is definitely required with Elexicon.

They really suck, never answer the phone never have crews ready to actually work, the wind blows and there power dies, if there was another company I would take it.
