We chose Blakney Electric for our Generac generator installation based on a past experience, but this time was disappointing from start to finish.

The installation took place on January 29, 2025. Prior to that, a representative explained the process to us, and I was told I’d need to be home on the day of the install. I wasn’t sure why I had to take the whole day off, especially with no power and freezing temperatures. I arranged to be home in the afternoon, as I was told the work would be completed by 1PM and someone would walk me through how to operate the generator. Instead, the work wasn’t finished until around 4PM, and the only interaction I had was a worker briefly telling me they were done—no explanation, no instructions.

The next day, I inspected the installation and was immediately disappointed. The wiring had not been run along the foundation as told, and the propane lines were mounted on a metal post over 3 feet high—something we were never told. I was also unaware a second company, Maritime Fireplace, was involved until they unexpectedly contacted me.

Both companies later acknowledged the miscommunication and assured me the issues would be addressed once the ground thawed in spring. In late April, I followed up and was told I was on the list. Eventually, I was informed the work would be done the next day and that I didn’t need to be home. After more delays, I came home one day to find the electrical wiring had been buried—but the propane lines, my main concern, were still untouched.

To make matters worse, wires had been screwed directly into my siding, leaving visible holes and black marks on my less-than-a-year-old home. I sent an email to clarify that the exposed propane lines were still an issue. I was then told burying those would cost an additional $2,500. I was open to paying it—if it would actually fix the problem.

We met to discuss options, I was told the propane lines could be buried, but it would still require two raised posts. That didn’t solve the issue—I would still disliked the appearance. Though the siding was cleaned, they didn’t have color-matched caulking, so now I’m left with visible damage.

Two weeks later, I received a surprise invoice for $523—apparently for burying the wrong wires, something I never requested. On top of that, my lawn was damaged and now needs to be replanted. After spending $20,000, I’m extremely disappointed with how the installation looks.

Overall, this has been a frustrating and disappointing experience. If I could go back, I would absolutely choose a different company

Amazing service!!
I wish there were more than five stars to give.
Glen didn't just install the mini split, he spent the time to show me how to run it and made sure I was happy with my choices the whole way through the process.
Definitely recommend!

We have been customers of Blakney Electric for several years. They manage our Generac standby generator and do a great job. We had a service issue this week and they were both professional and prompt. The communication from the office was very good and Travis came to the house and immediately discovered and fixed the problem on the spot. We rely on our generator to be "ready at all times" and Blakney Electric is a strong partner in making that happen.

We have been using Blakey Electric for years, they have always been just a phone call away and have quickly resolved any issues. This was the first time we had Glenn. He quickly assessed the situation and discussed our options; we opted for a one time only option and so far, ir has worked!! Thank you Glenn!!

Worrying about the elements and the worsening storms coming up the coast, we started thinking about backup power for security and safety reason. During a major power outage and having dogs there aren't a lot of places we would be able to go. And with a major outage most places, hotels, motels and friends would have no power anyway and wouldn't want our dogs if they did have power.
After doing extensive research and reading customers thoughts and reviews we settled on a 25000 watt Generac from Blakney Electric from Riverview N.B. I must say from start to finish it was seamless and went as smooth as glass and they did everything they said they would do.

With their red Milwaukee tools Blakneys teamed show up and worked tirelessly for a few days installing this unit and were always explaining what they were doing at different stages of the installation keeping my wife and I totally informed at different stages of the install. Blakney coordinated with Irving Propane who showed up and installed three 400 lbs. propane tanks and both teams worked in sync getting my Generac unit running.

I must call out Travis from Blakney's as he really was our go to guy explaining what they were doing and taking the time to explain the total workings of our new unit. Travis answered all our questions as dumb as they may have sounded and we never ever felt Travis was brushing us off or avoiding us. And to top it off Travis gave us his cell number to call him if we had question or were in need as he said he will also be the guy doing our yearly mid-summer servicing.
This unit works effortlessly and starts itself one a week on Wednesdays at or around 3.00 pm like clock work, runs for a few minutes, shuts itself off then sends me an email telling me my unit is ready for work and all systems are ago.
Over the top in Dieppe.

We just had an amazing service experience with this company. My wife and I were at our off grid cottage located in the Miramichi area when we were faced with a generator issue that would had forced us to relocated during a winter storm. Boyd, went above and beyond to fix our generator on his day off. He made a four hour round trip to solve our problem. I definitely recommend Blakney
Electric to my family, friends and business contacts

Thank you Boyd

Amazing work! above and beyond customer service. They did a number of job around my home and along the way found numerous serious issues. They where brought to our attention and fixed immediately. We had range hood installed and it had scratches on it, which very well could have been there when it was delivered to us however they uninstalled it and reinstalled the new one at no additional cost to us. They where very professional and explained everything to us, such as why and how they where going to go about doing what we requested and made sure we understood how to use everything before they left for the day. I would highly recommend these guys if you ever need anything done big or small.
