Recently purchased a chainsaw from RONA Leduc, and unfortunately, the product was not working. Despite returning to the store within five days of purchase to explain the issue, I was met with blatant refusal and hostility to accept a return or provide an exchange.

The store manager, Marcin, was especially dismissive. I explained that the chainsaw never functioned properly, and I expected RONA to honor its return policy, especially given the extremely short time since the purchase. Instead, I was told outright that they wouldn’t take it back. There was no attempt at resolution, no concern for customer satisfaction.

What made this experience worse was the tone and attitude displayed by staff. I couldn’t help but feel that my ethnicity played a role in how I was treated. The interaction felt borderline discriminatory, which is not something any customer should have to experience at any place of business. This type of behavior is unacceptable and concerning.

In addition, the staff were rude, unhelpful, and dismissive, clearly unwilling to stand behind the products they sell. Do not buy any mechanical or gas-powered tools from this location—you will be stuck with defective equipment and no support.

If you value customer service, fair treatment, and functioning tools, I strongly suggest taking a short drive to Home Depot or another hardware store where you’ll likely receive far more respectful and reliable service.

RONA Leduc has lost my business completely, and I do not recommend this location to anyone, especially if you expect basic decency or may be part of a visible minority. Very poor experience.

Cashier was pleasant. But was the only one on and we were 6 deep. I needed 4 bags of base rock and 4 bags of sand. When I got out there, there were 2 of us (customers) in the loading aisle, and not a single employee to be seen to at least sign off on what I was loading myself. Finally he came out, just as I was ready to leave with what I had bought. Not a great experience whatsoever. Back to the Rona+ in South Edmonton Common. Or maybe Home Depot.

The only reason it wasn't a 1 was because the cashier was super friendly, everyone else couldn't smile if you paid them to. Also 2 ladies were standing near the garden center at the front entrance smoking, pretty sure that's illegal as it's not 15feet away from the garden center where we were shopping and it's disgusting.
Might be worth some retraining,

Do not purchase any technical equipment from RONA in Leduc, Alberta. Their return policy is not honoured, and management is terrible. The customer service is consistently unhelpful and borderline disrespectful. I experienced treatment that felt discriminatory, and overall, the staff showed little interest in resolving issues or helping customers.

You're better off driving a short distance to Home Depot in Edmonton, where staff are more professional and returns are handled properly. Avoid buying anything from this store—especially items you might need to return.

Since the remake done time ago, their inventory and selection generally sucks. Today, I checked for product availability online, which indicated what I needed was in stock. Not available at my local hardware store, so 45 minute drive to find out that they don't even carry the product. Had an associate at the store even verify that I searched correctly. Wasted 90 minutes of my life due to someones inability to accurately reflect on a website, what is in store. Products that they don't even carry should not be showing as "in stock". I know where to avoid, in the future.

Bought a washer dryer combo on March 16. Promised to deliver within 10 days. Our paper work says delivery date of March 25. No call from Rona so we called on the 25.th and got placed thru to voice mail. What kind of customer service is this. March 26 we finally talk to Rona and they say nothing they can do and won’t be delivered until April 6. What the heck RONA!!! Worst customer service ever. They won’t even compensate us for late delivery.

Edit: 1 month later and we are finally happy. The first washer dryer came bent and the delivery people tried to hide it from us and when we noticed then the delivery team said oh yes we know it was like that when we picked up look at our pictures. Rona told us to keep and they would then deliver a new one in a week. We did get one a week later in great condition. However both delivery teams were rude, pushy and claiming things were not their job even though Rona’s contract says it is. Rona also reached out to us to rectify the situation and they were great about everything. All this being said we will never purchase an appliance through Rona again.

My family and I had a very disappointing experience with RONA. The level of customer service we received was unprofessional, dismissive, and at times felt discriminatory. When we raised a concern and tried to resolve it fairly, we were met with resistance and a lack of basic respect.

At first, we were going to let it slide — but we felt it was important to share our experience so others can be aware. Businesses need to be held accountable when their staff fail to treat customers with dignity and fairness.

We sincerely hope RONA takes the necessary steps to improve how their personnel interact with customers and handle complaints. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of the issue at hand.

Based on our experience, we will not be returning. If you're looking for fair treatment and reliable service, we recommend going elsewhere.
