I’ve been recycling my bottles at Regional Recycling Vancouver Bottle Depot for about a year now, usually going at least once a month. The staff is fantastic, super hardworking and efficient, even though they often seem short-staffed.

One downside is that often there aren’t enough carts and baskets available, so I’ve had to wait in line for them to be emptied before I can put my bottles in. It can be a bit frustrating.
The process is pretty straightforward: they count your cans and bottles, give you a slip, and then you use a machine to scan your barcode for cash.

I wouldn’t recommend going there on Sundays as it can get really busy with restaurants dropping off their cans and bottles.
Overall, it’s a classic old-school bottle depot, and while it has its quirks, I appreciate the service!

I usually go to this place for recycling because of the large facility and abundance of staff members. But there seems to be lacking trays for the recyclable containers. There's always enough carts and staff, but never enough trays to go around. People have to wait by the overhead doors and you have outside customers going inside the building because of their impatience. Maybe have some kind of canopy for people to stand instead of the hot sun and better signage to tell people (For example have a sign says "First come, first serve and wait in line please. Do not enter!)

I visited on a Saturday morning hoping to avoid the crowd, but I was shocked to find it extremely busy that early. There was only one staff member, a short asian lady, managing everything and she seemed to be handling it all on her own. Despite the overwhelming number of people, she remained incredibly patient and professional. I have to salute her for maintaining such composure and efficiency in a hectic environment.

However, I noticed there were not enough bins and trays, indicating they might be short-staffed. Additionally, for the past two weekends that I went there, their system has been down, which makes me wonder if the depot is closing. This place has potential, but they definitely need more support and resources to operate smoothly.

second time ever going here (it was strictly due to time schedules) and it was pretty laughable. staff wernt helpful, they want you to do not just sorting (which I don't mind ) but counts as well. - I was under the impression this was part of their job?-

I wouldn't recommend this place unless faced with closing times and your work hours of others being incompatible.

my first experience posted below.
after working a long day and sorting bottles it'd be nice if it wasn't up to the patrons to count for you.... that's what staff is for... isn't it? what stops anyone from adding extra onto their haul withstaff relying on customers to do half their job?

my first time at this location and u quite liked being able to be outside in the sun doing what could be a monotonous job.
- HOWEVER, after sorting for 1.5 hours and walking up to get them counted I was rudely asked "how many.... well don't you know?!" I said if she wanted me to count it will take me a min.... her response was "ur wasting my time"
being my first time here I wasn't aware I was to have everything counted and just walk up with numbers. no where is that posted. though there is a sign that says staff will count. I'm sorry but I dont understand how someone working at a bottle depots time is wasted by counting bottles brought by patrons.

as pleasant as being outside, the carts available and drive up option is.... being treated decently by staff at other locations seems a better deal
